hi, after chemo my eyelashes are at last growing back. does anyone know of a mascara that would be good for short lashes ( so presume a short bristled wand) that would be quite gentle on them too?
thanks in advance

Congratulations on them starting to grow again. How long ago did you have chemo? I'm just wondering whether it's worth giving them as long as possible, because although certain mascaras are meant to encourage growth, cleaning them at the end of the day will inevitably put strain on them. If you're at the point where you just want to go for it, avoid anything waterproof or long stay so you don't have to scrub it off, and try one that's meant to encourage growth, like this: www.lookfantastic.com/la-roche-posay-toleriane-volume-mascara-black-6.9ml/11393015.html

Hi, ApplestheHare 9th october was my last chemo, then I've had radiotherapy since too. I had breast cancer diagnosed in May.
yes, i want something gentle/conditioning , I'm not really a full-made up person, but I ALWAYS had eyeliner and mascara on, its great to be feeling more normal now. I have been warned they may fall out a couple more times until the cycle is reset, so am making the most of these for now! Thanks for the reply, hope you are doing well too.

I don't know if it helps but I used rapid lash and it has made an insane difference to my eyelash length so might be worth a go. No irritation either and my eyes can be quite sensitive

Have you done one of these workshops?

They're online at the moment

I lost my eyelashes due to chemo for breast cancer too. I found that once they grew back they actually stayed. I did try some lash growth stuff but I kept getting conjunctivitis so had to stop. Once they were long enough I used an eyelash curler (as some were growing in odd directions to start with) and my usual mascara.

Well done for getting through the dreaded chemo!

Chantecaille do a brow gel that I use as a mascara, with a subtle but noticeable effect.

The wand is really short on one side. There are peptides in it to encourage growth. It comes in clear and tinted versions. There are two shades of the tinted version, light and dark.

Do try Revitalash. Your situation is what it was created for. Pricey but very effective.

How about the Clinique bottom lash mascara?
Teeny tiny wand as intended to use on lower lashes but absolutely no reason you can’t use on top lashes.

Also NYX1 eyelash serum is amazing. Results within a couple of months if used daily. Loads of before and after pics of you search
