Hairstyles that look good tied up.

Looking for a new hairstyle and need the collective mumsnet to help me. I am 57, short, slightly overweight and have a round face. My hair is thick with a slight curl. Over the years I've had various styles on repeat as my hair will only do certain styles, and only certain styles suit me. In my head I woukd love a edgy pixie cut with an undercut, in reality I'd look ridiculous. I work in a DIY wholesalers so usually in my scruffs covered in paint etc. Out of work I rarely go out and am doing housework etc. Currently my hair is shoulder length with a side swept fringe, when I blow dry it it looks nice but as I'm menopausal I end up tying it back. So what do I have. The only other style I suit is a Bob, would love to look like Victoria Beckham but woukd it be too much maintenance and I'd ender looking mumsy anyway.

What you may like is the Gibson tuck. I am not much good at describing it but basically a low pony tail at the back and then rolled/ tucked in on itself. It looks more effort than a pony but it's just one more step. Also can be soft around the face which is flattering but practical.

I do a simplified version of the curly girl method to make it as curly as poss then I find it looks better up and messy. If I try to straighten my hair and wear it up it looks terrible. I'd recommend looking at that but don't get out off by the people who are evangelical about it because life is too short.
