Right weight but very flabby and untoned

I'd love some advice here. I've lost over a stone in the last year and am now almost at 'dream weight'. However despite size being good for me, my arse and thighs are still quite flabby.. I'm a pear shape so this has always been my area. I walk and run and thought would give some tone.

Yes, I am currently really enjoying Five Parks yoga on YouTube. I do an hour of vinyasa flow. Absolutely love it 😍

The instructor is called Erin Sampson - she has loads of free videos. In addition to reducing the flab around my middle, I have also noticed that my skin is looking really really clear, and my appetite is slightly reduced...

Pilates reformer (on the stretching machines). Barre classes too. But proper commitment (not 2-3 classes a week)- I go every day to be able to see difference in my body. Good luck 😉

Lottie Murphy (pilates) on YT is fab, loads of videos. I do the intense full body one every day (it's only half an hour) and a fair bit of walking with the dog.

Does anyone think it's that I need to loose more weight maybe?

You probably don't need to lose any more weight. You need to lose fat and build muscle. You might even gain weight but look slimmer.

RichTeaCheddars · 06/12/2020 12:19

You need some form of resistance training. You don't need to start with weights. You can do some exercises that use your own body weight. Eg squats, lunges, planks, pressups, dips with no weights. Increase the amount you do and then when comfortable with that introduce weights or resistance bands.

I’m the same op.

Caroline Girvan on youtube (weights and HIIT-type) has made a massive difference to me - I can feel abs for the first time EVER.

placemarking. I'm similar too OP. would love to hear how you get on

My stomach is very toned, just luck perhaps and all those years of ballet! I'm certainly feeling that Heather Robertson workout today.. V painful. I like Lottie Murphy too so will give her a go too. I wonder is there any old fashioned type aerobics? I was in super shape in my mid 20s doing a very intense aerobics class twice a week.
