Recommend me a watch

So DH has been given a very generous bonus this year. His company has stayed open throughout & coped really well.
Anyway he's offering to buy me a special watch, budget around £2-2.5K something that I can pass to my daughter in the future.
I've no idea what brand to look at. I don't like anything too chunky or masculine, I wear yellow gold so maybe like a bit of that in it. Where do I start?

I'd go with a classic stainless steel and gold omega constellation or something along that line.

Omega or Tudor would be my picks. Tudor is part of Rolex, the quality is the same but the prices are very competitive - you are basically getting Rolex quality at sub-Omega prices.
Tag-Heuer might be worth a look as well.
Also try Watchfinder or Chrono 24 for preowned watches, that's a good way to get a more expensive piece for less.
Make sure you try on the pieces you like, they often look & feel differently in the metal than in the pictures!
Do a bit of research into dial colours, strap /bracelet options etc then go looking for the piece you want.

Have a look at Longines they have some lovely watches.

Check out EBEL. It is timeless very stylish , ultra thin
I bought mine in 1983 and still love it.
I think mine is called Sport model and it comes in 3 sizes
I have the medium.
Highly recommend it..

Thanks for all your suggestions.
I've done some research online & there are a couple of Longines & Tudor watches I like the look of. Definitely going for the metal strap, I had leather when younger & just hated them after a while. Planning on going to a jewellers tomorrow that has a good range to try some on - you just can't tell from an online image & I don't really know what I'm going to like.
