New role - slightly weird and niche so won't specify but need to smell nice everyday - not really a perfume type - what can I buy that is reasonably/mid priced that will last and is one that people always comment on when you wear it?

Madame Glamour from Lidl is in my drawer at work. Cheap and gets lovely comments when i wear it. It is a dupe for a Chanel fragrance (sorry dont know which one).

goldenharvest · 05/12/2020 21:44

I think the Lidl one is like Chanel no 5

FlyingByTheSeatof · 05/12/2020 23:05

I have that one 'Madame Glamour' which is indeed a dupe for Chanel No 5 which I also have.

The Zara Jo Malone perfumes are lovely and very reasonably priced. My favourite is Waterlily tea dress.

RaininSummer · 06/12/2020 00:03

I thought Madame Glamour smelled like cat pee but I don't like chanel no 5 either. I always get compliments when I wear cool water woman. It's light and fresh so not heavy at work. I am intrigued by what kind of job needs you to smell particularly nice other than just the normal clean and fresh

Lovely SJP

RedSoloCup · 06/12/2020 00:04

Next ones are really good every day and reasonably priced

BeakyWinder · 06/12/2020 00:06

SJP lovely and the Zara one in the black bottle are my work perfumes

AcornAutumn · 06/12/2020 00:09

The mind boggles re the job!

Marcipex · 06/12/2020 00:46

Plenty of jobs - a teacher friend is often covered in perfume herself because the teen boys en masse can smell pretty rank.

sofiaaaaaa · 06/12/2020 00:48

Ysl libre is my favourite work fragrance 💔 devastated I haven’t been able to wear it much recently as been wfh all year!

Gamble66 · 06/12/2020 00:53

@Marcipex - not far off but not because they smell but the client has sensory issues/additional needs and likes people to have individual smells - they are slightly famous in a niche way x

Some of the new look perfumes are nice and I always have River island by night, people always comment on that.

FlippinNoah · 06/12/2020 02:19

Out of all the perfumes I have ever worn over the years, without doubt the one that has had the most comments is New Look's Pure Dusk. I'm on my last bottle from my panic-buy stash from when I found it was being discontinued. 😢

Why can't you wear it at home?
sofiaaaaaa · 06/12/2020 08:18

@Housewife2010 I use it occasionally but I have others and don’t want to waste itBlush I have a fragrance collection and wear certain scents for different occasions; bought this one as I think it is better suited at the office with business attire or a proper outing etc. It’s like a power fragrance for me, doesn’t quite hit the mark at home!

QueenPaws · 06/12/2020 11:01

Next summer sun (beach smelling)
J lo glow (soapy)
CK one (clean citrus)
Perfume parlour do a dove soap scent and also a Nivea one which are v cheap and also Lush dupes if you like any of their smells

goldenharvest · 06/12/2020 19:33

Nina Ricci L'Air Du Temps is gorgeous. Light and flowery

JiltedJohnsJulie · 06/12/2020 19:40

I wear Cherish by Avon at work usually and often get comments, positive ones that is Grin
