I felt really brave at my last hairdresser appointment ment and went for the chop! I've gone from collar bone length hair to a choppy pixie cut. Would I'm loving the fact that I don't have to deal with long hair any more, I have no idea how to style my pixie now that it's started to grow out a bit.

My main problem send to be that when I was my hair it's really soft. I have fine hair but am absolute TON of it and it just sort of sits on top of my head like a big helmet. I think I might need to go shorter at my next appointment.

Can anyone offer any advice or recommended any good styling products? I've tried Lee Stafford Messed Up wax/paste which was heavy and not very nice. I've currently got loreal pixie cream/wax which doesn't seem to do much at all.

I am having similar problems after growing out a shaved head, years ago I used to use tigi original bed head. It's like a wax stick and was brilliant don't know if it still exists

I use a wax stick too, Ive tried other stuff but always go back to it.

@ditavonteesed I'd love to buzz all my hair off, I've been so tempted to take my husband's clippers to my head so many times!

Thanks for your replies, I'll try a wax stick and see if I get on any better with it. The thing that's annoying me just now is as it's grown out a bit the ends look and feel bristly. I'm wondering if it's the cut or if it's shampoo/conditioner/products I'm using? I'm in Glasgow so level 4 for the next while - counting down the days til the salons open again!

The best stuff I have found describes itself as dry putty. Of course the super best I ever found is now discontinued but in general the hold of dry putty means you can get your fingers right into the roots and achieve some lift that actually lasts.

I used to used that Bedhead stick too, it’s great although my friend saw it and thought it was an underarm deodorant all covered in hair 🤢😳😂

My hair is very short but very fine, I find a powder volumiser by far the best as it doesn’t weight it down. I think the one I use is VO5 - bright pink packaging.

So they still do the tofu bedhead stick, I've ordered it. My hair is at that length where it either looks really funky when it has lots of product on or like an old lady who's just had a set when it doesn't

I like a powder too. My fave is this one

Lazy pixie cut tip - use weleda skin food hand cream and run your fingers through your hair immediately after. Two for one Grin

Thanks everyone for your replies. I've ordered the wax stick mentioned and one of my friends suggested looking at men's products as she found them much better for short hair, not to mention much cheaper!
