Best Foundation for Flaky Skin

My confidence is at rock bottom. I used to have lovely clear skin but gradually dermatitis spread all over my face. It's now flaky on the forehead and blotchy on the cheeks. I can't even wear makeup to make myself feel better because when ever I put on for a special occasion it would settle into the flakes and make them look worse. Lancôme was the foundation I used to use. Please don't tell me to exfoliate. Does such a foundation exist that will flawlessly cover flaky skin? I take it, because of covid, I can't go to makeup counter lady to try formulas out. I'm fair skinned and nearly 31, if that makes a difference. TIA.

Gosh that sounds hard! I also have very flaky skin as I have eczema and generally always been very dry. I would recommend before makeup having a solid hydrating skincare routine, I use a gel cleanser then an oil and a moisturiser. Leave for a food 10-20 mins before doing your makeup, then I use the Nars tinted moisturiser all over and then their concealer under my eyes and anywhere I need more coverage.

Hope that helps, Iv also used Bobbie brown skin foundation and that was lovely.

I'm 29 and fair skinned also if it helps!

I've used this brand to cover psoriasis. Worked very well and doesn't budge dermacol-cosmetics.co.uk/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI09bcube37QIVgobVCh2eKQq2EAAYASAAEgLPkfD_BwE

No foundation recommendations but just wanted to show solidarity on the skin situation. I've had patches of sebhorreic dermatitis on my nose in the last 6 months, and it's really upset me, especially when putting make up on. Have you asked your gp about any treatment? I've tried various things, gp gave me Dermol shower emollient which I use as face wash and recently had a birthday present of a organic face balm by Ugly Apples - take a look at their range online. Anyway, all the best op.

I have the same skin. Nars sheer glow for me. I always moisturise first, sometimes twice, and let that completely dry. I try not to touch my face too much so foundation only, I don't use concealer. Then I use a moisturising setting spray after foundation and throughout the day if I need to. It won't be perfect every time but it's better than everything else I've tried.

Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation. It’s amazing. Gives a lovely glow and extremely moisturising. Feels like silk on the skin.

Nars sheer glow! Amazing foundation!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 06/12/2020 06:24

What's the setting spray please Jamesmoriarty?

JamesMoriarty · 06/12/2020 10:36

I'm using an urban decay one but anything that says hydrating does the job!

Just read all your replies now. Thank you all. So grateful for your recommendations. Looks like I'll try the Nars sheer and if not that, the Armani one. Not sure if I can get Nars where I am.

Another vote for armani foundation. The les bieges one.

I have the dryest skin known to man. This is the only foundation that works for me.

Chickenwing · 10/12/2020 20:45
