Navy tights

hedwigismyowl · 02/12/2020 22:36

I wear a lot of navy dresses and skirts to work; blue is my favourite colour.

Can I wear navy tights? Is this a thing? Or a no-no? So far just worn black tights? Both would be opaque.

Also, are sheer black tights a thing or a no-no? No

I wear navy opaque tights...M&S, they are great!

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 02/12/2020 22:38

Also I think it looks a bit wrong if you’re wearing a navy dress/skirt and navy shoes to wear black tights...though I’d wear black tights if I were wearing black shoes!

You can wear anything you like. Your do not need our permission.

Tesco do a lovely navy cotton opaque tight btw. Smile

I have black, navy and chocolate brown opaques. If i'm wearing a dress or skirt of one of those colours i'll wear the matching tights.

Temporarything · 02/12/2020 22:47

I like navy tights with tan shoes.

JaceLancs · 02/12/2020 22:48

I wear a lot of navy dresses always with navy tights
I have navy boots but also tan works well

Miljea · 02/12/2020 22:49

Navy tight would look way classier than black tights with your other choices.

You'd look 'well put together' IMO! 😊

EdinaMonsoon · 02/12/2020 22:50

I think it depends on the colour of the shoes/boots. Navy tights with navy, tan or brown shoes are great. Navy tights with black shoes would look wrong IMO & so I would wear black tights with black shoes.

Another vote for M&S navy opaque tights.
Depending on the colour of my dress or skirt, I alternate between black and navy tights. I have to keep them in two separate drawets - sorted in good daylight - as I can't tell the difference by artificial light furst thing in the morning!

Scarby9 · 02/12/2020 22:57

And I can spell - just can't type on my phone (or proofread either, clearly).

User415373 · 02/12/2020 22:59

I'm not a fan of black with navy so would always wear navy tights or a contrast colour (yellow, pink, orange!)

Lexilooo · 02/12/2020 23:13

Navy tights will look l loads better than black. Much more polished. Either that or nude.

Sheer black tights are a thing but they have been fairly unpopular for years. They tend to look a bit 80s

HillaryWhitney · 02/12/2020 23:15

Ooh I don't work in an office now but when I did, one of my fave outfits in winter was a navy dress, thick navy tights and tan accessories

hedwigismyowl · 03/12/2020 00:56

Thanks all. My shoes are black brogues but now wondering about investing in navy or tan ones 🙈
