Arket knitwear - 'do not wash'

Does anyone have any experience with Arket knitwear? I'm looking at a cardigan thats a mix of alpaca, wool and polyamide, but it says do not wash, not even 'dry clean only'? Does anyone have one that they've tried washing? I'm not keen on the idea of something that I can never risk getting dirty, I wear layers underneath so my knitwear doesnt need washing that often but sleeves etc usually get a bit dirty after a while!

Which one? I took a quick look and saw one where it said do not wash but dry clean in solvent bla bla. Washing means water normally so do not wash would mean dry clean is ok. I’d wash anyway mind but gently, they’re just covering themselves in case of felting or shrinking.

www.arket.com/en_gbp/women/knitwear/product.alpaca-merino-cardigan-beige.0584165023.html It's this one and yes I think you are right, I didn't read it right! Thank you

I have thus cardigan and love it so much I bought it in three colours. I wash it in the machine on the wool cycle. It comes up quite big, I’m a 10 and the S is generous.

I have this cardigan in another colour and washed in the machine on the wool cycle no problem.
I dried flat and it’s fine. I have other alpaca jumpers from Other Stories this year which say the same but I’ve washed and they’ve all been fine.

I wash all my knitwear including cashmere on the wool cycle in my washing machine. I only have one Arket jumper & that's merino wool. I have washed it many times and it's still absolutely fine. Quite often washing labels are simply to cover the company from any obligation in the event of shrinkage or similar. They can't possibly perform quality control on hugely mass produced items. Just treat it carefully and I'm sure it will be fine.

That should read "100% foolproof quality control"... I'm sure they do apply some quality control of some kind Wink
