Recommendation for budget friendly day and night creams

Hi all,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a budget friendly day cream and night cream?

It's for someone with normal to dry skin, early 30's. By budget I mean under £20 altogether.

CeraVe. Big bottle of moisturising lotion for day, small tube of moisturising facial cream for night if you feel the need. Spend your money on a good SPF. La Roche Posay sensitive eyes in the tube could double as a moisturiser but it's a bit thick. Usually on offer somewhere.

Use a suncream during the day (La Roche Posay is good, as is Watery Gel by Biore from Amazon) and just a basic moisturizer at night. I love Nivea in the white package.

Aldi's Lacura range.

I've tried many creams over the years and skin routines. I found most clogged my skin up to be honest. I simply use nivea moisturiser during the day and don't use a night cream. My skin would be normal to dry also. I'm always getting comments on my skin. My grandmother only ever used cold water and ponds and she had beautiful skin.

I use the Aldi caviar stuff which is wonderful, great for dry skin.
I'm not sure there's sunscreen in the day cream though

B. By Superdrug.

Emmapeeler2 · 02/12/2020 20:50

I bought some Simple night and day cream (white tubes, day cream has SPF) the other month and was really pleasantly surprised. It was the right texture for my dry skin but not too greasy.

Nivea Q10 range is good. Always on offer.

L'Oreal Revitalise is a good night cream.

For day cream make sure it has SPF in it.

Misty9 · 02/12/2020 20:57

Aldi lacura. Day cream has spf too. I've tried many more expensive brands and this is the one my skin likes most.

MacbookHo · 02/12/2020 20:58

I LOVE L’Oreal Revitalift. It’s the only thing I’ve used where I really noticed a difference. Often on offer at Boots for under £20.

Oil of Olay moisturising lotion is £5 and decent for daytime (with your own SPF).

I’ve tried Aldi’s Lacura as I love Aldi, but my skin hated it.

purdypuma · 02/12/2020 22:37

After starting with Aldi Lacura skincare i'm currently using Lidl's Cien day cream, night cream, eye cream & serum. The day cream has SPF & they all have hyaluronic acid. All 4 items for under 20.00 & for me the Lidl Cien is a lighter cream which suits my combination skin as it absorbs quicker.

glasshalfsomething · 02/12/2020 22:39

Superdrug own brand naturally radiant. My favorite night cream. Ever.

TornadoOfSouls · 03/12/2020 07:48

Olay Total Effects is good for day, and often on offer. As above, Cerave is good too.
It might be worth going without a cream at night. I did for years -I think it helps skin balance itself, reduces sensitivity and ensure your other products are not too harsh (eg you shouldn’t feel desperate for moisturiser after cleansing your face).
The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors is a good plain moisturiser if you do want something for night, or again Cerave. I know some people swear by Nivea, Astral etc but they are quite heavy and perfumed. There are better basic options out there.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 03/12/2020 07:52

The Superfacialist by Una Brennan stuff is very nice indeed. It's now available in Sainsbury's as well as Boots and they often put it on offer.

SionnachRua · 03/12/2020 08:07

+1 for Aldi lacura. I find their serum especially good.

mrssmiling · 03/12/2020 09:10

Another vote for Lacura. I have the caviar day and night cream - the day cream is SPF15 - and also a Rejuvelate day cream which has SPF30. I have used many more expensive creams and have been surprised at how good Lacura is. Definitely worth a try. Think the caviar cream is £6.99.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I see a fair few suggestions of Aldi but unfortunately we don't have Aldi were I am. I will have a look at the others.

Aldi Lacura I use the Rejuvelate (Revitalift copy) with SPF. To be honest I think the cheaper the better so you can use plenty, face neck and cleavage.

mrssmiling · 08/12/2020 16:59

Was looking at another thread...wasn’t aware that you can get Lacura delivered! 😁 They do a double pack of the Caviar Day and Night cream for £13.98 with £2.95 standard delivery. Just under £17. Lots of others available...including Rejuvelate and the Q10 serum.

garnier ultralift in the red pot, both day amd night.

hellolittlebaby · 08/12/2020 18:38

Aldi all the way!

FlyingByTheSeatof · 08/12/2020 18:46

Nivea Q10 is good and half price in Superdrug at the moment and they deliver.

Also worth buying is the Superdrug Simply pure hydrating serum which you apply under your moisturiser.

You can get all of these now for under £20

Ginfordinner · 08/12/2020 18:50

Superdrug Naturally Radiant. It's cruelty free as well.

Oohlalalalala · 08/12/2020 18:50

I’d recommend the Curel face cream which you can get from Boots. I use it morning and night Smile
