Sezane coat - camel or sand?

I need a coat that is not black or navy (I’ve got plenty of these already). I’ve seen one I like from Sezane which I was going to get in camel:
www.sezane.com/en/product/johnson-coat/camel#size-6

However I think I prefer the “sand” one, I find it a bit softer and I’m thinking it will go with everything, casual or smart, and all the colours, unlike the camel one which is a bit more casual and that I can see myself only wearing with denim jeans really.

If I’m not told otherwise, I’m going to buy it in sand so please tell me if it’s a bad idea as I can still change my mind and go back to my original idea. Thank you Wink

Ps: I’m not set on this coat so I welcome any suggestion (as long as it is not oversized).

I like the sand more! It’s a softer colour, and I could see it working well with casual outfits and denim but could also go with workwear etc.

Stunning coat, the sand will be hard to keep looking clean but camel isn't that forgiving either.

Coconut2010 · 01/12/2020 23:15

Thank you @Sasuma, I’m glad I’m not the only one in thinking that Smile

Good point regarding keeping it clean, I hadn’t thought about it... If I go for the sand one I will have to be extra careful which is not very natural for me as I tend to rush a lot Blush

Another vote for the sand here although I would share @ferretface's concerns about my ability to keep it clean (but I have a mucky toddler so wear a lot of black)!

Great coat, the navy is particularly gorgeous.

I assume either would suit your colouring, OP? I look shocking in either colour, but as long as it's a good colour on you, I think the sand is much nicer than the camel. (The camel is not very camelly to my mind. More tobacco? maybe and quite harsh on my eyes).

Coconut2010 · 01/12/2020 23:32

Yes, I should have said both colours suit my skin tone which is rather warm (quite similar to the picture). And I fully agree with @Takethewinefromtheswine, the camel is not really the traditional camel I had in mind which is another reason to go for the sand.
I also love the navy and I would probably buy it in navy before any other colour if I hadn’t one I like already.
Thanks again everyone, I will give it a go --and make my dry cleaner happy--

They're both lovely. I think it depends on your lifestyle. Sand is going to be harder to keep clean.

LemonOrange · 02/12/2020 11:56

Sand. I have a friend who has a winter coat in cream and she always looks so smart/glamorous in it. She has a very rural lifestyle, drives a muddy old Defender, coat seems to cope. The camel is more ordinary.

OverTheRubicon · 02/12/2020 12:00

I love Sezane pictures but have been totally put off by their awful Trustpilot score. Have you ordered from them before? If so and it was good that's great, if not might be worth checking it out (also I like sand too).

Mirrorxx · 02/12/2020 12:06

@OverTheRubicon I have ordered from sezane many times and find their quality to be excellent and the service is great.

Coconut2010 · 02/12/2020 12:12

I ordered once from them (following advice on this board!), I found the quality was good but the sizing was very random (Clara trousers sizing very small whilst the Gustave trousers are huge).

The sand is gorgeous, definitely that one!

Spied · 02/12/2020 12:20

I prefer the camel. I think it looks classic and also on trend.
I think the sand is lovely but I'd see it as a mature woman's coat.

HappyGirlNow · 02/12/2020 12:54

Sand

ZaraW · 02/12/2020 14:01

Sand is much nicer.

Zengarden001 · 02/12/2020 14:13

Both are absolutely gorgeous! I wish I could justify buying another coat!

Lalalatte · 02/12/2020 14:25

Camel is more versatile, will go with more colours imo
