Just that, really. In the mornings, I cleanse, apply serum then finish with Biore Watery Essence SPF 50. Then at night, I just cleanse then apply Olay Retinol24 night cream. Wondering if I should be using moisturizer in the morning too?

Hasnt retinol dried your skin up? How long have you been going without moisturiser? Does your skin not feel dry?
Is the climate where you are so humid or your skin very oilt?
Because yes it is recommended to use serum, moisturiser then spf.

Hi. I do use use a moisturiser at night, but it has retinol in it. I'm in the UK. Skin isn't dry or flaky.

I think it depends on your skin type, I used to use light moisturisers with spf, then heard they are not that effective so now I use spf's that say they hydrate which I think most do in some way. I have very oily skin which won't ever drink my niacinamide, spf and a moisturiser. Depends on your skin type I'd say someone with dry or possibly normal skin couldn't imagine it and would count it as skipping moisturiser. If you looked for the lightest moisturisers anyway then your spf might be enough moisture to prevent drying and seal in your serum.

Watery essence sat on top of my skin it was too much, I relegated it to neck and chest.

Sometimes. If you do you need to be careful about what types of things you mix.

I use a mineral sunscreen that’s in an oil based lotion, so if I need a bit of something extra I pop on a bit of marula oil over the hyaluronic serum I use, but under the sunscreen.

I would be wary of mixing e.g. oil based moisturiser and silicon based sunscreen, because of piling and also because I’m prone to milia (silicon over oil can cause them).
