Zoom skin!

Hello! Like the rest of the world, I am seeing my face every morning on zoom and I’m
Noticing just how tired and dull my skin looks. I’m 42, working on the sleep and drinking enough but wondered what would be helpful to ‘perk up’ my skin! I look tired, pale and dull. Does anyone have any top skin care or make up tips please? Thank you!

Skincare - a good acid and a good serum (retinol for ageing or vit c for brightening).

Makeup - a foundation with luminescent / reflective qualities

Zoom - the function that blurs and improves your appearance (in camera settings) plus good lighting!

What would be good lighting Daydream? Do you just mean strong lighting?
I look much better on Zoom on my work computer than on my personal one so I suppose the quality of the camera has something to do with it as well.

Dedicated camera (not the inbuilt one) and decent lighting — an actual lighting setup, not just household lights.

It’s not you. It’s the IT.

Don't go mad with that, I turned it up full and then no one could read anything when I shared a document on the screen 😂. Fortunately I have no shame and was happy to tell people that I was too vain

Haha thanks for the zoom advice! I don’t have a filter and actually my skin looks worse in real life than on zoom!
I’m a bit useless at skin care so what acid and retinol and vit c(that doesn’t cost the earth) would you recommend?

skin care takes a while to show a difference, its all about the long game with retinol etc, I've read great things about hourglass powder on here.

@Helpmyhair2019 all zoom has a filter! It's in camera settings Smile

Beachlovingirl · 29/11/2020 20:56

The filter setting on zoom is my best friend and I also have a floor lamp to one side of my desk at the back of the desk and a desk lamp at the back of the desk on the other side. These two lighting items make a massive difference. Try it with lamps you already have, see if it works for you.

I also have my MacBook on a high stand so the screen is at eye level (separate keyboard and mouse mean I don’t need to actually use the MacBook keyboard) and this means on zoom I’m not looking down into my camera, more looking up - which is a lot more flattering.

Thank you. It’s more that I look worse off zoom! I just notice how bad I look as I’m permanently looking at myself on zoom!

I started doing some of the face exercises recommended on these youtube videos - they have improved my skin tone - but are pretty tedious. I would say I saw an improvement in under a week , but you have to repeat each exercise 50 times! Open pores smaller, skin tone fresher and I'm old.
