Glossier - anyone tried their makeup?

I’ve seen Glossier advertised loads and they’ve got 25% off this weekend so I’m tempted to get a few bits - has anyone tried it, any good? I’d usually always get makeup in person so not totally sure about buying online without being able to look at it!

I've tried the Boy Brow - which is great, most natural looking brow mascara I've used - their tubing mascara, which is the worst of its kind I've tried, looks great at first but leaves me with panda eyes after an hour or two; and the Cloud Paint, which looks good but it's very tricky to squeeze out only the tiny amount you need so a lot gets wasted.

optimisticpessimist01 · 29/11/2020 11:07

I've tried the Cloud Paint. In hindsight I probably chose the wrong colour but its still lovely. Gives a nice glow to the skin.

Muuuuuuuum · 29/11/2020 11:08

It's very "no makeup" makeup so depends if that is a look you like.
I use and love boy brow, also like the mascara (don't get Panda eyes at all). Agree with pp re cloud paint but if you get right colour for your skin tone, it does look fab.
I also use the skin tint - very sheer but makes me look much better but still make up free. It offers pretty much no coverage though, just sort of blurs you a bit, so no good to hide spots etc.

I have the Future Dew which is just gorgeous under makeup and actually a really good primer, makeup seems to stick to it really well.

And 2 of the cloud paints which I really love as well (but yes, you only need a tiny bit and it's quite tricky to only squeeze out a tiny bit!)

I've been curious for a while and just ordered the brow boy and brow flick duo & stretch concealer. Was running low on both anyway and for the £30 for all 3, thought I'd give them a go. Had to take a punt on shade though, which I don't usually like to do, but reviews suggest customer services will swap if not right. Looking forward to trying though.

This is their only sale every year so this is the best time to buy. I like Cloud Paint, Generation G lipsticks (sheer and matte, I've just ordered another three Blush), the concealer (very natural looking but light coverage) and the lip balm in a tube. I've also got one each of the liquid eyeshadows, I prefer the matte one.

Most of my make up is from there. I have:
-Skin tint. Very sheer but enough to make my skin look a bit more even and not ‘made up’
-Stretch concealer. Find this lasts really well and doesn’t dry or cake.
-Cloud paints. The best. I dab a drop onto a make up sponge and dab it on my cheeks, you don’t need much at all as it’s very pigmented so this works for me to control it.
-Boy brow. Just gives my brows a bit of oomph - might not work if you need to fill in your brows as it just coats what you’ve already got.

That’s pretty much all I wear on a day to day basis and the brand is more targeted around a ‘natural’ or low key look.

I think I might buy another Cloud Paint and the Future Dew in the sale.

Sasuma · 29/11/2020 13:02

Oh yeah and the Balm Dot Com, I’ve got a couple and it leaves a lovely tint of colour.

DoveGreylove · 29/11/2020 13:03

Boy Brow is great. And their perfume is lovely

impressivelycunty · 29/11/2020 13:07

I have the colour slide eye pencil in a sort of burgundy which is really lovely and the mascara which is complete rubbish!

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 29/11/2020 13:16

I have a couple of the lidstars and one of the matte eyeshadows. I like them but they are very sheer. You can’t really see I’m wearing anything in photos

In all honesty having been gifted a fair bit (no idea why) I don't think any of it is something that can't be got elsewhere much cheaper. I quite like Boy Brow and the Cloud paints are nice - however I recently purchased a Collection 'you do you' blusher and it's basically the same thing, for a few pounds, and I get essentially the same effect from my usual brow pencil and clear mascara to set combo. Everything else they have going on makeup wise just reminds me of Boots Natural Collection but with better marketing and packaging and of course, hype.

Futuredew seems popular but I just felt it was meh. I know their MO is 'super dewy and sheer' but it felt clammy and takes ages to dry down so isn't that helpful (for me) as a primer under makeup. I think it's probably great if you have good skin and want foundation free days with a moisturised glow but otherwise can't see the point vs any other serum.

I use the bits I have occasionally but would never fork out for them myself even with 25% off, though I have placed an order for a teenage relative for xmas and I know she'll be thrilled just because it's anything glossier and she thinks it's cool.

PirateCatQueen · 29/11/2020 14:57

Boy Briw is really good. Tried a few other things off the strength of that and wasn’t impressed.

Brow flick- weak colour, took ages
Lip gloss- nice colour/effect, but tastes funny
Generation G- funny waxy texture, not pigmented enough. Like a wax crayon really.

MindBodyChocolate · 29/11/2020 15:00

I’ve got a few things and as others have said, it’s very sheer and dewy so if you want coverage it’s probably not for you. I however really like the stretch concealer, boy brow and the skin tint for very light makeup days.

NeverTwerkNaked · 29/11/2020 15:03

The cloud paint is quite good but I found the mascara and brow stuff rubbish.

Passmeabottlemrjones · 29/11/2020 17:42

I learnt from Katie Jane Hughes who I am obsessed with that if you are going to use Brow Flick, you have to use it before you put any serums/moisturiser/skincare on, because otherwise the oils on your brows from that will dilute the brow flick and that's why people often have issues with it. She is the absolute queen of doing her brows in that way, they literally transform!

PirateCatQueen · 29/11/2020 18:20

Thanks Katie

PirateCatQueen · 29/11/2020 18:21

But I prefer to be able to use my facial SPF freely when I want to continuing to buy a substandard product, so it’s still a no from me.

LarryUnderwood · 29/11/2020 20:45

Boy brow and cloud paint are nice. The mascara is utter rubbish, nice brush but the actual product is feeble, I honestly can't tell the difference between using it and not using it, its so thin and faint.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 30/11/2020 00:00

I really like Boy Brow and find it super easy to use
