Chili.
Perfect balance or red and orange without the pink tones or the purple/blue you tend to get in most reds. It’s usually one or the other and I suit neither (although I do have Russian red and it’s ok - not my favourite but not awful). The orange tones in the chili makes all the difference for me.

I’m a very pale redhead and it suits me better than every other shade I have tried. I also know it’s a lipstick that works well with Asian/ Indian skin tones (well from the people I know personally- I know not every Asian person has the same skin tone). I know it really doesn’t suit my friend who has more typical ‘white person who tans easily but can look a but pale in the winter’ and has brown hair and eyes. I’m not sure how it would work on much deeper skin tones but I think the orange tones in it might work well.

Chilli or Whirl but I prefer Lancôme Poeme

CorianderQueen · 01/12/2020 23:56

Oh Mehr is lovely too

CoolYourBeansMySon · 02/12/2020 00:11

Ooh good timing! I'm thinking of buying Retro Satin, but it looks really pink on the virtual try-on. Is it?

MadisonAvenue · 02/12/2020 14:02

I’ve ordered Stay Curious, I’m getting impatient though as I ordered it at the weekend but it’s still not been dispatched 😂

BusterGonad · 02/12/2020 22:49

I've finally bought 3, I remember Girl about town being my first proper lipstick, usually before then I'd wear dark ones, a bit goth but this bright pink was my first step out of that and I loved it. My mum bought it for me for Christmas with a matching lip liner. I think that was about 15 years ago.

Mumtumwobble · 02/12/2020 23:09

Patisserie or Brave

Bumble03 · 02/12/2020 23:13

Costa chic

MadisonAvenue · 04/12/2020 21:04

My Stay Curious was supposed to be delivered today but it’s not arrived, it’s still due for delivery today (it’s now gone 9pm so I very much doubt it) according to the Royal Mail app Hmm

GoldfishParade · 05/12/2020 07:41

I dont know what to get! I'm pale but Celtic pale as in almost blue tinged, not creamy pale.

I want a nude (that doesnt look too peachy or too frosted and back to the 70s), and a muted browny pink with a kind of 90s vibe.

Can anyone help?! I'm looking at Spirit, some of the Viva Glams, Honey Love

babysnowman · 07/12/2020 13:00

@GoldfishParade I'm the same, that blue tinged Irish skin with dark hair. I love Blankety, it's a pinky nude that doesn't wash me out at all. It's also a beautiful opaque finish.

Lardlizard · 07/12/2020 13:09

Have you had a play around in the app where you can try on the colours ?

Darklane · 07/12/2020 22:00

Not being able to get to a counter & try makes it so difficult.
Can anyone suggest things please?
I’m very pale but that cream pale not pink. I was a redhead but went completely white in my twenties. Eyes are a turquoise colour.
Anything plum or blue pink makes me look like death. Online a suggestion was Vegas Volt which I ordered & love it.
Can you suggest any others that lean warm pink, no blue or mauve tone, or any coral ones. I need that bright warm tone. I’d love a natural everyday nude that doesn’t wash me out but can’t seem to find one.

I can't wear anything with blue tones, and I'm also pale with green eyes so not sure if these help but I find reddish browns suit me more, although I can't do 'bright' and def not bright pink

Twig
Brick o la
Chilli ( very brave for me but it suits my colour)
Velvet teddy.

Mull It Over is really lovely and there’s also Down To An Art, these are probably as close to a warm toned nude as I’ve tried. I can’t wear cool blue tones so Vegas Volt is an absolute favourite of mine, another coral you might want to try is Tropic Tonic which is very like it but a matte. I’ve recently discovered Runway Hit too which is a great shade with my warm skin tone.

It’s quite difficult as I find that more lipsticks are suited to cool tones.

This is making me so nostalgic - I used to covert MAC lipsticks back in my 20s, such a fun thing to go and browse the counter - those were the days! The only one I have in my collection now is Faux, it's just such a gorgeous nude .. I slowly culled all my others over the past few years. I used to love Lady Danger but don't think I have the confidence for that now. I basically wear tinted lip oils now and hardly ever lipstick - but this has made me want to buy a couple of new ones - I think I'm going to go for Brave as always loved that one but never owned it Smile

Darklane · 08/12/2020 07:16

Thank you justgeton & MadisonAvenue I’ll go & look at those.
