Charlotte Tilbury Mystery Boxes

I noticed that Charlotte Tilbury have their mystery boxes again for Black Friday and I’m tempted. I bought one last week year and loved it and used most of it.

However I wonder if anyone has experience buying then yearly? I don’t want to get it if it’s full of duplicates.

They also have 3 this year which is making it trickier to decide. I’m thinking the Glow box is the one I’d go for, based on the products I can but I’m also expecting it will have the Wonderglow or Youth Glow of which I have both.

Any thoughts?

Oooh I'm intrigued too! I've gone for the iconic box so can let you know. I nearly went for the glow one but wasn't sure so opted iconic in the end. I've had a mystery box from there before and bloody loved it (Pillow Talk is definitely my favourite ever nude lipstick) so I'm excited!

So tempted by the iconic box but spent £130 on CT a couple of weeks ago so really shouldn't...

@catsmother20 can I ask what you bought and if you'd recommend? I'm always so tempted by CT stuff but with the price tag I don't want to gamble on products that aren't going to be used! And did you go for a mystery box?

@BucksFizzForBreakfast I love CT skincare, have all her magic creams and serum. Make up wise I have a few lip sticks and Hollywood filter which I love. So would love to get the mystery box to try more make up.

I put in a Black Friday order on CT on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday. I'm pleased with all of it. I got a couple of eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks and some gifts.

Then couldn't resist a mystery box so I ordered the Hollywood one. Not really sure what to expect but I went for that one as I thought the iconic one might be a lot of "pillow talk" (and I bought pillow talk medium in my order on Monday) and I thought the glowy one might be a lot of highlighting products and bronzer though it could also be skincare. No idea what the Hollywood one include but it is the most expensive so I hope it is worth it.

I'm thinking I could pass on anything I won't use as a Christmas gift but I noticed it said some items might not be packaged so wondering about that.

Perhaps we can compare boxes when they arrive!

I did end up buying the glowing one. I was tempted by the Hollywood but I already have that lip thing that’s in it.

I will share the contents of my box when I get it. Looks like it’s been dispatched already so hopefully have it on Wednesday.

I think when it says item might not be packaged it means it won’t be in the gift box rather than an unpackaged item. When I bought the mystery box last year it had an eyeshadow palette that was too big for the gift box so it might be something like that again.

It is all a bit of a gamble with these things but we know that. As you say, it was more difficult as there were choices and you don't really know what's in any of them other than the two products they show. I'm not sure the lip thing in the Hollywood one will be a good colour for me but I'm excited to see what's in the box. Sometimes a surprise is nice.

How was your last mystery box? This is my first one.

The last one was really good. I can’t remember everything but remember it definitely had the Icon Eye Palette, 50ml Magic Cream, Chic to Cheek Blush, legendary lashes mascara and some other things (I think one of those pot eyeshadows, a lipstick, maybe an eye liner or lip liner too). I think brightening youth glow too. It was really worth the money and I sold a couple of the unused things on eBay for £50-£60.

This thread made me buy a box! I went for the icon one as I needed some new brown eyeshadow & wanted to try the lipstick.

My box has not arrived today

And I was so impressed last week when my order on Monday arrived by Wednesday morning!

My box arrived, I'd gone for the Iconic. Not sure to be honest, all make up and three lip products. All in pillow talk which to be fair was the colour I wanted to try. Two eyeshadow palettes, one nice, one bleugh. A highlighter which I'm too old for and a bloody black eyeliner . Will try it all out but would only have consciously ordered two of the seven products. Hey ho that's what you get with a mystery box, just thought they'd want to woo new customers.

My box arrived too. I am a bit disappointed with this one (glowing). The blush has been in a couple of the previous boxes, no skincare which was really frustrating. The palettes are both lovely but a bit too similar. Brown eyeliner which I will use and the highlighter I really like. Three lip products in this one too but they are all different at least (lipstick, lustre and lip bath collagen).

I think if I sell the bits I won’t use I can make half the money back so it’s okay really. I’m just a bit gutted that there wasn’t a single skincare item.

I'm sorry you we're both disappointed with your boxes. It sounds like they were similar! I thought you might have got some skincare in the glowing box.

I am hoping mine arrives today.

I had bought some l'occitane gift sets for my two teenage nieces but I got the Bella Sofia palette free with the order I did on Monday last week so was going to give that to the older one (it's nice but similar to colours I have) so depending on what is in my box I might have a palette to give to the other niece too. I think they'll be pleased with those. When I told her yesterday I'd done some shopping on CT she was saying she'd love to try it but it's so expensive...

It's such a gamble with these boxes but I hope at least half of it is stuff I would buy.

On reflection today, and having a play around with it, I actually do like everything in there though I think I will still sell a couple of bits (probably one of the palettes, the duplicate blusher and the lip bath collagen as I already have 3 other colours of those).

It is a gamble, but it's a lovely surprise all the same and would buy another one if they do it again.

I got the look in a palette, two eye palettes, 5 lip items (inc two lipsticks) and a blusher

The eye palettes similar colours but I was thinking of gifting two so I will decide which to keep out of these two (exaggereyes and copper charge) and the Bella Sofia that I got in my earlier order.

The look in a palette is actually nicer than I thought it would be - it's bigger and the colours are nicer than they look online and the blusher looks like it might be nice on. Not too much of the same colour anyway.

Need to work out which of the lip items I won't use (if any) before I open them...

I wonder if they have excess stock of lip items due to everyone wearing masks!

Has anyone tried the glowgasm colour changing lipstick? (Looks like glittery clear lipgloss, or there is a clear red one) I’ve seen the adverts and wondering if it’s any good.

@adagio the adverts are all over my Facebook too, I really want to try them!
