Oasis and Warehouse reboot

I used to quite like Oasis and Warehouse and know they went bust and were taken over. Their new websites make everything look a bit cheap.

Wondering if this just bad web design or everything has been cheapened up. Has anyone bought from them since the takeover and if so does it seem similar or is it all cheap rubbish now? (I know it wasn’t top quality before but it was reasonable)

I've got 2 jumpers from warehouse since, both fine quality wise, like they always were but I know what you mean, it looks a bit Arcadia group now with the new layout.

SellFridges · 28/11/2020 13:08

I was an Oasis addict. Most of my clothes came from there without any exaggeration. The new stuff looks awful to me. I haven’t been inspired to order a thing as none of it even looks like it fits the models.

You do realise Warehouse were Arcadia group at one point.

Both are owned and run online by Boohoo now. Which probably explains it.

Askinvillarblues · 28/11/2020 14:00

I have lived in oasis clothes for years. They were a great fit on me, reasonably priced and washed and wore well considering the price point. I was so sad when they went bust and excited to hear they had been taken over - but I placed an order to try things that looked nice hoping that it was just that the new website was hideous and making it all look cheap and nasty, and was gutted when it arrived to find out that no, the new designs and material really are crap. Cheap material, poorly made and badly fitting 😩. Don’t think I’ll be buying again which is such a shame as it’s been my go-to for about 15 years.

whatswithtodaytoday · 28/11/2020 14:04

They're owned by Boohoo now, so will be cheap and nasty. Sadly - I loved Oasis. Best high street shop for curves.

MabelMoo23 · 28/11/2020 21:11

They are now owned by Boohoo. So a side order of modern slavery, horrendous working conditions and Boohoo being partly responsible for Covid spreading like wildfire in Leicester? No thanks

And I LOVED Oasis and Warehouse. Wanted a new top? Oasis was my first port of call.

Never again. I won’t buy Boohoo brands on principle

Hayeahnobut · 28/11/2020 21:14

As above, please don't buy from the Boohoo group. They knowingly put so many people at risk due to shit working conditions, through coronavirus but also before that. Plus their response has been pitiful, they've given themselves even more money. Disgusting people.

studychick81 · 28/11/2020 21:19

No, they have gone cheap. I ordered a few things and they all went back I really noticed the quality had gone down. I won't order from them again. I have noticed the quality going down the last few years though. I used to shop there all the time, used to love it.

Dreambigger · 28/11/2020 22:37

Yes it looks really cheap..thanks for this. Any suggestions as to where we can shop now ? I LOVED Oasis.

Squidsister · 28/11/2020 22:51

I was an Oasis fan too and my favourite dress is from there. However I just bought an Oasis top and have to return it as it doesn’t fit across my chest. No room for my boobs! I am not massively endowed so it just seems badly cut.

My new favourite shop now is Phase Eight, but in the sale as I think they are overpriced otherwise.

waterpalava · 28/11/2020 23:30

I didn't know all this about Boohoo!

My teen DS has taken a liking to some of their stuff too Blush

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/11/2020 23:40

I was never an Oasis fan but bought quite a bit from Warehouse. The website is horrible now, and I had a feeling the quality would be Boohoo now they have taken over.

Anchoredowninanchorage · 28/11/2020 23:48

Oh that’s a shame that boohoo has taken on warehouse and oasis ☹️ I loved the prints from oasis and lovely silk embellished dresses from warehouse spotlight, eBay from now on I guess

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 29/11/2020 09:39

I loved oasis, would always find loads of stuff I liked but now I can’t even see anything I would wear at all. Such a shame

nitgel · 29/11/2020 09:41

I have ordered a couple if dresses but I think they are still from the last season but they're nice and not cheap looking.

I think the website seems to copy zara / all saints type styling

SellFridges · 29/11/2020 09:50

For those asking where to shop now, I’ve had some success with Hush, Sosander, and Oliver Bonas. All more expensive but quality is better.

Coffee4me · 29/11/2020 13:19

I didn't realise this, just noticed the other day that local Oasis shop was there no more. Such a shame, I really liked their stuff!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/11/2020 13:51

Phase Eight was bought by Boohoo as well, plus Karen Millen and Warehouse.
HerdyGerdy · 29/11/2020 14:06

Boohoo owns:
Oasis
Warehouse
Karen Millan
Miss Pap
Boohoo
Boohoo Man
Nasty Gal
Pretty Little Thing

All brands to avoid due to Boohoo’s horrific business practices.

Can’t see any mention of Phase Eight - can you link to this?

CurlyhairedAssassin · 29/11/2020 15:38

I didn't know that about Oasis/Warehouse/Karen Millen. Explains a lot.

I've always disliked clothes shopping but now I absolutely hate it.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/11/2020 17:02

Ah sorry I meant Coast not phase eight! In my mind they are very similar 🙈

brimfullofasha · 29/11/2020 23:47

Most of my clothes used to come from warehouse. I've had a look at the website but am not convinced of the styles or quality and wouldn't buy from Boohoo because of the ethics.

Crappyfridays7 · 30/11/2020 10:33

A lot of my clothes were oasis/warehouse however I’ve bought a few bits from ‘new’ oasis and material is horrible sizing isn’t right and generally just look cheap and nasty. The website isn’t great either, haven’t looked at warehouse as not bought anything there for years now but used to when we had one locally.
However all the old stock is in our local Debenhams loads of oasis jeans going for 15/20 pounds I might get a few pairs as I really like their jeans. I’ve had some stuff from fatface/mint velvet/white stuff since oasis closed. It’s a shame they’ve ruined what was a really nice shop/brand by making the stuff cheap and ill fitting but as someone about said boohoo aren’t a particularly reputable company either I’ll be avoiding from now on

Sockbogies · 30/11/2020 12:57

I've been buying long sleeved plain tops from Oasis for years now, one of my basic wardrobe staples, fab for layering or wearing on their own (usually order a couple a year, and have done for the last 12 years - consistently the same quality and fit). Ordered a new white one last week which arrived today. Urgh - just awful. Thin fabric that is completely see-through, its about 3 inches shorter than the old version. Much tighter over the bust (unless my tits have suddenly got much bigger). Delivery was much better, but not really a deciding factor. I won't bother again, if they can't get a basic top right it doesn't give me much confidence in the other pieces.

BusterGonad · 30/11/2020 14:13

I've not been tempted by anything at all on the new website. I've bought a few bits off of ebay to keep me going. I've now started ordering things from Joanie clothing, yes a lot is polyester but I like the designs, the fit is good the clothes are unusual and quite retro and the best bit is that every few months they have discounts, 40% off at the moment and last month 25%.
