IPL: Philips Lumea Prestige or Braun Silk-expert Pro 5?

After months of deliberation, I'm considering finally purchasing an at-home IPL device, as there seem to be some good deals out there at the moment. The two brands that seem most well-known/highly-regarded (or perhaps which just have the best marketing? Grin) are the Philips Lumea Prestige and the Braun Silk-expert Pro 5, but I'm not sure which to go for. I have fair skin and very dark hair, so hopefully I'm a good candidate for IPL either way, but I'd like to get the one most likely to give the best results (if there's any difference). I'm intending to use it on legs mainly, as having to keep my legs hair-free is always the bane of my summer, but I'll also use it on underarms and bikini line.

Does anyone have experience of these, or can give any information that might be helpful for deciding? I'm particularly interested to hear any experiences of the Braun device, as the Philips seems to have been the dominant brand historically, so has more reviews.

If anyone can shed light on the various models available too, that would be really helpful, as I'm not sure how to tell which ones are supposed to be the best!

Currently it seems like I could get the Braun device for ~£230 on promotion (apparently the RRP is £600, but I don't see anywhere selling it for that — it seems a bit unrealistic!), while the Philips, depending on which model and retailer/deal, could be anywhere from ~£270 to ~£500 Shock (though I've no idea what the difference is supposed to be between the BRI953, BRI954, BRI956, etc.).

I'm really indecisive, so I'm hoping you'll be able to advise me and I'll actually finally get around to buying the damn thing. Grin Thanks in advance!
