Smart/casual receptionist clothes

Starting a new job in two weeks and have been told today that the dress code is smart/casual.

Need some recommended websites to have a look for clothes please as until now have always worn a uniform so I’m clueless!

I wouldn’t wear a dress so I’m thinking black trousers and just need tops really.
Have a huge lockdown belly so need to be flattering and also not low cut/ v-neck as I have a skin condition on my chest.

Thanks in advance

I had this and bought smart trousers and tops and cardigans. I found that I’d gone too smart and emergency bought black jeans on my way home on the first day. Grin

Where do you normally buy clothes from and what size are you?

I bought shirts and H&M and some thinish cardigans. That was enough. Just stick to colours that vague go.

Shirts from h and m

Oh and colours that vaguely go. Sorry!

Yes worried about going too smart!!

Thank you, will look at H&M.

Usually shop in supermarkets to be honest or Next. Size 14.

Think I’ll need to wait and brave the shops when they open later this week.

Don't worry about going too smart.

George at Asda is great for smart casual look, so is TU at sainsbury. Best bet is black/grey trousers with a blouse or a nice jumper, and maybe some loafers or brogues.

You don't want to be too casual. Too smart would be if you wore a skirt suit with high heals.

Maybe get a pair of black jeans too. Proper black black not denim-y coloured.
I found marks and Spencer’s quite good for trousers. I had to try on about ten but I got two really nice pairs.
