Have noticed my drooping eye is getting worse (pic)

My right eye droops. Has always been slightly smaller (fine) and it’s an hereditary thing, my dad had it. His sisters had it. I’ve been doing Foreo Bear on it but... nothing. Am getting very conscious of it. Can anyone comment or suggest anything?

Thanks

My left eye is like this, it’s so different to my right. Even my eyebrows is lower. You can really tell in photos.

I can’t say that my mum or dad has it or anyone else in my family.

I can’t be entirely sure but I noticed it after I had Botox a number of years ago for migraines. It was after the Botox wore off.

The Botox didn’t help with my migraines and it lowered my eyebrows down, I couldn’t apply eyeliner on the bottom eyelid and my mascara would rub off on my higher eyelid!

At a guess I’d say it’s just ageing, could be connected to the Botox but I have no proof & besides the other eye isn’t dropping.

Sorry but I can’t really offer any solution, I would have thought the only way is surgery unfortunately.

You could try an LED face tightening device just on the one side.
Alternatively PDO mini threads on that side would give a lift for up to two years.

Eyelid ptosis?

My right eyelid and right eye brow droop when I'm tired.

@Adviceneeded4

Well, I didn’t get to do very much... thanks for Covid restrictions again and it being something I put to the bottom of my list of things to worry about.

I did buy a Foreo Bear which I’ve started using regularly and “think” my face generally looks better but... maybe not 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ll put up with it for now. If, like with my mum, it starts to be a problem in terms of reading and driving, I’ll see my GP.

I’m terrified of the idea of Botox as some people say it’s made their eyes droop. Can do without that!

Thanks for more replies 😊

Thanks so much for all the extra replies. They are very helpful. Especially Moltensilver for giving me a name to Google! Thanks OP, I agree about the botox, I didn't know it could make it worse!

@Adviceneeded4... I think it’s a rarity but yes, botox, when it goes wrong, can cause the eye to droop.

I’ve started using some Avene skin care too. I’m usually a full on Nivea Q10 person but wanted to try something for dry skin and it’s lovely. Avene Physiolift and Skin Recovery Cream. I’m not a big believer in lotions and potions but this feels skin plumping and very moisturising.

I have this, it’s called Horners syndrome - one eye is smaller, and the pupil doesn’t react as well so I struggle with night vision. It also droops especially when I’m ill or tired.

The doctor who diagnosed it said don’t let anyone near your eyelid with a scalpel unless it’s severely restricting your vision, as there’s too much that can go wrong with it. If it gets really bad I end up sitting with my finger on my brow propping it open!

Honestly it’s not that bad, so by all means try Botox etc but please don’t get into cosmetic surgery around your eyes. If I’d had mine done when it was at its worst, it would all be in the wrong place again now as it’s settled down for a while!

@MarkRuffaloCrumble... ooh I do like a bit of Mark Ruffallo 😂

Thanks for the advice.
