Have you just used bleach and no toner then?

dementedpixie · 26/11/2020 21:26

If the ends are still more orange than the roots then they may need bleaching again

elsaesmeralda · 26/11/2020 21:30

Is this fresh? If so I would wait it out a couple of days and then put a light ash blonde on it with a toner afterwards

katey2020 · 26/11/2020 21:31

Salon bleached my hair I were bright orange she used a tonner a few as woulnt gp any lighter. Ive been using garniee a few times it made my hair go lighter on top but middle bit wont go much lighter

Did you do it yourself?

Tbh, salons reopen next week so I would just leave it until a professional can correct it. Go to a new salon if you don’t trust the previous one.

It’s quite a hard colour correction job as it’s so uneven, some areas may need to be lightened whilst the rest is left alone. Or, different toners may be used in different sections as its uneven.

sofiaaaaaa · 26/11/2020 21:37

Oh fuck, your hair was black before???

Leave it alone before it starts breaking off

katey2020 · 26/11/2020 21:40

Yeah I did it my hai with this hair dye salons dont open in my area were gonna be on lockdown then xx

I bleach my own hair. I use the Jerome Russell box bleach, and I used to use Wella colour charm toners which you could get on eBay but I think it’s discontinued. So now I use L’Oreal Dialight (there’s a few different ones) and some 7% developer from Amazon....I do lighten it a bit more than you have though. It’s so hard when you can’t get it light enough but don’t want to damage it.

katey2020 · 27/11/2020 09:30

When I went blond about 4 year ago I used Russel were really good and used 30vol worked a treat bit but I let salons fo it this time and tried lightening I my self but deems its not going any lighter any one any good tonnet to recommend. X

When I've gone from dark to blonde at salons there are very careful about doing it and do it gradually rather than there and then, this is to reduce damage as your hair would take a beating !
I always used super drug 'ice blonde' toner, but don't know if they still do it as it's been a while since I've lightened my own hair

elsaesmeralda · 27/11/2020 09:34

I think you need another bleach/ash blonde on that though before toner as it's quite dark still

katey2020 · 27/11/2020 11:07

Isn't ash blond makes your hair to light? I might try bleaching my self using jermory Russel and use there tonner but wait 1 month as only dyed my hair lst week week

OP posts:
elsaesmeralda · 27/11/2020 11:15

Yeah it is light but the Ash blonde has cool tones in it so it will tone down the brassy colour of your hair as it is now. Also it won't dry out your hair as much as bleach will. Colour wise you don't want to go for anything that has a warm blonde/honey type of tone to it.

VienneseWhirligig · 27/11/2020 11:17

You could try using Bleach London silver shampoo to improve the tone, it is gentle and won't damage your hair.

katey2020 · 27/11/2020 11:27

Why folna do it t the orange shampoo I just bought some offline to try first

please stop bleaching your own hair op! Where in the uk are you? I am in tier three and salons will be back open here from the 2nd. please let a professional correct it. you cannot 'tone' hair from orange to yellow/white. toning changes the tone, it does not lift it. you might be able to tone the top bit to a better colour but the ends will look murky, because they've not lifted as much. If you came to me, I'd do a root stretch with a semi, and tone the ends to a warmer caramel type blonde, maybe leave a lighter money piece at the front and tone that separately.

I'd invest in some innoluxe or olaplex and a decent salon brand shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair because whatever you put over the top of very very bleached hair is going to fade quickly because the cuticle is so open.

MadameButterface · 27/11/2020 11:40

...and a silk scarf or pillowcase to sleep in as well because your hair will be brittle and prone to damage.

katey2020 · 27/11/2020 11:44
