Best hand cream

I would be grateful for suggestions

For mum. An NHS ward worker so constantly washing and sanitising hands.

Something that will genuinely make her hands feel better but doesn't leave a greasy feel.

O’Keeffes working hands is good, I slather it on at night after a day of gardening. Or try the Nutrogena one, it’s a bit lighter to use throughout the day. These are the best I’ve found and I do neglect my hands at times.

Molton Brown do a lovely truffle hand balm which I use with their hand cream - hands feel very soft when used regularly however, if I wash baby bottles and toddler plates and cups with bare hands then my hands dry up almost instantly - the only thing that really helps my hands is using rubber gloves when using water - the necessary repetitive hand washing and sanitising required in hospital settings would be very tough on hands.

Neutrogena is very good, and very good value

LadyEloise · 26/11/2020 00:41

Palmer's Coconut Oil.
Use at night as it is a little greasy.
Gorgeous scent.

MrsHaroldRobbins · 26/11/2020 00:41

Another vote for O'Keefe's Working Hands, it's good for when you've got those little cuts from washing, it sort of glues them to ease the pain. Also, I find The Body Shop Hemp cream is good.

thesoundofthepolice · 26/11/2020 00:43

Flexitol hand balm it's amazing. And it doesn't nip/sting when you're hands are red raw from all the washing.

L'occitaine shea butter hand cream is also brilliant and much thicker i slather that on at night times for an extra boost

I can't bear hand cream on the palms of my hands but cope with both of these

IndigoApple · 26/11/2020 00:44

L'Occitaine Shea Butter. The travel size lasts ages.

IndigoApple · 26/11/2020 00:45

@thesoundofthepolice cross post! Smile

NoShitHemlock · 26/11/2020 01:20

Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Hand cream - its expensive (so is only bought for Christmas/birthdays) but lasts for ages.

Emerald123 · 26/11/2020 01:37

Gatineau Vitamina works for my site lockdown hands. Very light texture but no sticky feel.

Tweetypietwo · 26/11/2020 02:54

AVEENO Skin Relief Moisturising Hand Cream is my go to. I would also recommend Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm before bed (can be greasy) as it works wonders for very dry cracked sore skin. A work colleague made his hands so red, cracked and sore before lockdown (using hand sanitiser a lot at work) I gave him this cream to put on his knuckles in the morning, by lunchtime his skin was back to normal! Love the stuff

poorlyearboy · 26/11/2020 08:16

Thank you everyone Smile

The Aveeno with the navy lid is fabulous. Hemp cream or O'Keeffes but at night only. Clarins esp the red one. At the moment I'm using Ziaja moisturising hand cream and it's so cheap but fantastic.

40weekswithno2 · 26/11/2020 08:26

Another vote for okeefes working hands

onlyconnect · 26/11/2020 08:31

I'Occitaine one is my favourite by far. I gave very dry hands prone to eczema and have tried many.

Rhinofeet · 26/11/2020 08:41

Aldi do a rip off body shop hemp hand cream that is very, very cheap (about £1.99 IIRC) it's excellent!

goose1964 · 26/11/2020 11:53

I'm using Norwegian formula , fast absorbing.

itbemay1 · 26/11/2020 12:06

Nursem do a good one
Molten brown is also fab
Jo malone walnut one is really good
This works hand protector is my current favourite.

Iwantacookie · 26/11/2020 12:16

Body shop hemp cream. Wait until it's on offer though. A big tube will last me about 6 months

QueenPaws · 26/11/2020 12:17

Nursem

Comefromaway · 26/11/2020 12:20

I really rate Neutrogena, Body Shop Hemp and L'occitane Shea butter. But the L'occiaten one smells lovely and feels like a treat whereas the other two feel & smell rather clinical.

WellIWasInTheNeighbourhoo · 26/11/2020 12:40

I get eczema on my hands and they are very dry and damaged from years of steroids and I have found the Glossier hand cream to be the best Ive ever tried. Its really expensive though I think for how much you get.

Mycuppatea · 26/11/2020 15:10

Lush helping hands - only thing that helps my hands in the winter, always get those little cuts on my finger tips.

Greenteandchives · 26/11/2020 15:15

My favourite is Kamill Hand and Nail Cream.
I used to get my OH to get it from Germany when he went on business, but deep joy, it’s in Home Bargains for £1.00! And it’s vegan.

LadyEloise · 26/02/2021 17:05

I bought the Nursem one and it's good. It's non sticky very quickly. Always a plus.?Smile
