Best shampoo for fine hair?

Hi to all the fine haired ladies, I am looking for your best recommendations of shampoo for fine hair. I have been training my hair to not need a wash everyday this year, but I have always used store bought brands and never really cared for quality but I think they are not doing my hair any favours. I think a better quality shampoo might help to keep my hair in good condition and possibly make those no wash days last, also I am finding that my scalp is a bit dry now these days too Sad.

I have fine hair and not a lot of it so not one of those deceptively thick hair looks. I can never use conditioner, even a tiny drop as it weighs my hair down and just doesn't look right so I am willing to accept recommendations for that too if there is any magic conditioner for my hair type.

I usually like to have my hair looking big/have volume rather than slick. Any recommendations would be great if you have any. Flowers

I like this one - www.champohaircare.com/collections/shop/dosha-Pitta - not cheap but you can buy a trial size first to see if it suits your hair. My very, very fine hair really likes it.

Hi OP, I like the Faith in Nature brand for both shampoo and conditioner. My favourite one is Lavender and Geranium, which I use for both products. They don't specifically say for fine hair but they work great for me - I'm like you and often feel like conditioner does me no favours but I do use this one most washes and as long as I rinse well it doesn't make it greasy. If you do Amazon subscribe and save here: www.amazon.co.uk/Faith-Nature-Lavender-Geranium-Conditioner/dp/B07YDXTBBY/?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 you get both for more or less the price of buying one! Best of luck finding something that works for you

Aveda sham pure shampoo and conditioner. It's transformed my fine hair to a full and bouncy mane! And it's 25% off on the aveda website at the moment and smells all herbal and divine

I've just started using Eleven Australia 'i want body' shampoo & conditioner and it's great. First time I've spent ££ on the stuff and I'm pretty happy.

Thank you all for the recommendations, I will certainly check them all out to find what works best. Grin I am not afraid to spend more for something that will last and actually do a good job. The less hair washing days help with that too.

I would try the Christophe Robin cleansing volumising paste- lots of sample tubs kicking around on eBay. Also the purple ogx shampoo is good but the smell is a bit strong (not bad but can clash with perfume). Can get mini bottles in boots sometimes and is cheaper than the former.

I really like the Bumble and Bumble thickening shampoo.

spiderlight · 25/11/2020 13:13

@Voodoorain - do you use that instead of shampoo or as well as?

Voodoorain · 25/11/2020 15:57

@spiderlight, yes it’s basically shampoo. You take a small amount and rub it into the scalp and then you add a little water and rub the paste into a lather like a normal shampoo.

Thanks! I've ordered a sample to try it out :)
