Any home made beauty recipes?

I am keen to try some home made face and hair masks but if you go online there is so much stuff and quite a lot is a little dubious (lemon juice on your face?). So I was hoping to find someone here who has made face and/or hair masks and had good results. Anyone?

I buy powdered bentonite clay online and mix with a bit of water to make a paste when I want to use it as a mask.

Any idea if it's suitable for dry skin?

deep conditioner for dry hair? Use olive oil, on hair, heat it a little, whack it on, wash it off after an hour.

dry skin body scrub: cooking oil (any cheapo will do) and ordinary caster sugar: makes a great body scrub. Whack it on, wash it off, soft skin for pennies.

greasy skin? gram flour (or cornflour) a few tablespoons and teaspoon of turmeric with a little turmeric made into a paste makes a good face mask.

want to tighten facial pores? use egg white, a brush, whack it on, wash it off with cold water.

mashed cucumber: great hydrating mask for face.

mashed papaya: applied to face, works like a mild chemical peel. It's used to tenderise meat, in some cultures. Don;t leave it on too long, though.

red wine in the bath: good antioxidant, relaxing. Cheap bottle you'd use for cooking is fine.

beer rinse: use beer (preferably a brown ale, stout or guinness type) as a final rinse after washing/conditioning hair. Makes hair shiny. Best on brown hair.

vinegar rinse: watered down, vinegar rinses help with greasy scalps.

blonde hair? steep 3 or 4 chamomile teabags in warm water, use as a final rinse on hair.

sheesh, I have loads of these... haha
