Can anyone recommend a hair waver?

Not tongs or curlers, a waver so like a crimper but for loose waves on long hair? I don’t want the ‘mermaid curls’ they all seem to mention, just nice loose curls that hold?

I have a Toni and Guy waver. I wouldn’t say it gave curls, just loose waves. You have to be careful it doesn’t look crimped. I usually use my Dyson Airwrap for loose waves.

I was looking at the Toni and guy one @fiorentina. How do you not make it look crimped? Loose waves is what I mean. Can’t afford a dyson air wrap sadly!

It can easily look like you’ve used a giant crimper from the 1980’s, so takes some practice and breaking up the waves after you’ve made them. I would use the waver on slightly damp hair and once I’ve finished, run my fingers through to break up the waves and then use product.

The toni and guy one is 17.99 on amazon. Worth a try?

You're not going to want to hear this but I use a curling wand...

I just brush out the curls so they're not tight and get beach's waves

FenellaMaxwell · 23/11/2020 09:27

You could try curling with straighteners or a big barrel curling wand, or braiding your hair into thick plaits and running straighteners over the plaits? Can you post a pic of the kind of waves you’re after?

Me and curling tongs don’t get on and I don’t like the curl from straighteners. I think waver will be much quicker to do than anything else... I like the dressing gown tie method but doesn’t hold in my hair for very long

Is the babyliss one any good? Thinking of getting this. Curl secret I think. My hair is so thick and naturally a bit wavy, so I hope it ends in waves.
