NY products are organic , cruelty free and made in England . You get what you pay for .

Are you looking for the same criteria but cheaper ?

JustAboutPresentable · 22/11/2020 13:48

Get a big bottle of oil (almond oil is good but any plain oil) and add your own essential oils. Honestly, that’s all NY bath oils are!

That's fair enough, but £15 for 100ml of bath oil is not in the budget for many people, and no one should be shamed for for looking for a less expensive alternative.

How about NY make your own base oil, £7.20 for 250ml.

Base oil

Springiscoming20 · 22/11/2020 14:33

Thank you. Will try almond oil and essential oil. Second q if I do this. If I mix and leave in a bottle do they stay mixed or will they separate? Not sure why I think this will happen but have a vague memory of reading this. Thank you

I don't think they would separate, but you can give the bottle a shake before use just in case.

LintonTravelTavern · 22/11/2020 17:59

Do you have to mix it though?

I wonder if you could just add a couple of drops of base oil & a couple of drops of essential oil to the actual bath water, that way you can put in whatever scent you want (or mix a few different ones together)

So you don't have to get through a whole bottle of the same scent for months.

That's what I would try Smile

Good thinking Linton!!!!

Hang on, read this!

You must mix together first, you could use a little tiny bottle to do it in.

Wiggleinherwalk · 22/11/2020 18:12

We stayed in a hotel recently that had 100 Acres bubble bath in the bathroom - smelled amazing, and is UK made from ethical ingredients. Might be worth a try?

Anon22 · 22/11/2020 19:18

Tisserand? The de-stress one is gorgeous and currently on offer for £6.71 here

Champagnecharleyismyname · 22/11/2020 21:22

A big handful of Epsom salts and almond oil mixed with an essential oil like lavender.

Neals Yard do a starter aromatherapy kit with a base oil, a mixing bottle and a base oil. I picked this up for £20 in an offer.

A few candles and some peace. Best bath ever.

DarlingCoffee · 23/11/2020 11:37

Yes I second Epsom salts and some essential oils! I’m currently loving the CBD bath salts from Holland and Barrett

Aromatherapy Associates now has a budget range which is available at Boots. www.getthegloss.com/news/aroma-active-laboratories-what-to-buy-from-aromatherapy-associates-budget-high-street-brand

dontgobaconmyheart · 23/11/2020 13:36

It isn't cheaper but the aromatherapy associates deep relax bath oil is my all time favourite. You can get the full size bottle for about £35 on amazon at the moment. Obviously it is a luxury but I use a few drops in a bath once (or twice) a week and it lasts me 6 months. I just use plain water/Epsom salts/cheap bubble bath the rest of the time to balance the expense.

Definitely google if making your own blends OP, there are plenty of 'recipes'. They can be put in neat if you adhere to caution and use sparingly. See below.
