Skin care help for 40 year old

Could anyone advice me what I need please for am and pm? My skin is ageing quickly now.

At the moment, I use
Am- an oil cleanser, eye cream, serum, moisturiser, sunscreen spf 50
Pm- oil cleanser, eye cream, serum and a cream

I did contact the ordinary a couple of years ago and bought products they recommended. I don't know why I stopped with the regime and am now left with a range of products half used which I don't know which order to use in-

Niacinamide, the buffet, grenactice retinoid 2% in squaline, cold pressed rose hip oil, azelaic acid, alpha arbutin 2% HA, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate

I'm sure I've read that trinny recommends oil cleanse, vit c, retinol and sunscreen.

I've no idea about retinols etc but my skin is dull and I have melanasma from pregnancy.

Can anyone help please? I'd like to know the names of products I need and then be able to search for them within my budget if that makes sense. I'd also love to use up some of the ordinary bottles I have if anyone can suggest a routine

Thank you Smile

What type of skin do you have?
Is your ordinary stuff within use by dates?

I have dryish dehydrated and am 50. I use:
Am:
A gel cleanser from cosrx
Toner - klairs or Paula's Choice Resist
Vit C - Melano CC
Eye cream -
Hylauronic acid - hada labo
Essence - Secret Key
Moisturiser - Cerave
sPF - usually a Korean brand spf 50

Pm
Double cleanse - balm or oil then cream
Alternate nights with Retin A or a serum
Eye cream
Heavier moisturiser eg Beauty of Joseon
Oil If needed

I tend to use Korean brands now with the odd Paula's Choice or Cerave item.

Forgot to add I use a aha on the heights I don't use Retin A.

Thank you so much. My skin tends to be normal to dry. I have pigmentation issues too.

I have pigmentation issues too and tbh don't think OTC things touch it.
I've dry skin and my routine
AM
Milk cleaner
Hyaluronic acid
Antioxidant
Moisturizer
Spf

PM
Oil cleanser
Cerave hydrating wash
Vit C
Hyaluronic acid
Moisturizer
Oil

Haven't added retinol but may next year.
Tbh I think an awful lot of skin care is trial and error. Products which are fab for some are awful for others. My big rule is no fragrance. I've been trying out Korean skincare which I really like.

Can't help with full routines but I found the ordinary retinol good for pigmentation as well as lines so I'd get started on that.

carrottopper · 20/11/2020 19:18

@napody I'm nervous about it clashing with other products. What do you use?
