Eyelid primer

My lockdown goal is to figure out eye makeup for my late 40s, hooded eyelids.

I think I'm going to need a decent primer if anything is going to stay put. Any recommendations??

urban decay is the best imo im early 40s with hooded eyes as well

Nars is the bomb. Switched from Urban Decay to this and never looked back.

If you've tried the UD and don't like it (I don't), then try MAC Paintpot in Painterly. It was recommended by Lisa Eldridge yonks ago but I use it every day. Also bought the Smashbox one. It's ok. Better than UD but not as good at the MAC. Depends what you want Dyson it though.

OP I use Benefit ... they used to have an amazing one - LemonAid - but sadly discontinued. The one now is more of a concealer to wear on eyelids. I like it.

Urban decay ones are great and so is the bare minerals one

Do you all think it's worth getting a specific primer rather than just using a general one (or a concealer)??

I have the UD one also a nyx and a elf one, they are all very good.

A mate of mine uses plouise base for eyelids but I haven't tried it. But her make up is perfection

Yes @GeorgeMichaelsEspadrille I think it really helps, especially if a) over 40 (as I am) a b) wear liquid eyeliner (as I do)

I use NYX and I find it brilliant.

Another vote for MAC paintpot in Painterly.

I have read that a dedicated primer is better than concealer as concealers are designed to hydrate whereas you don’t want to do that on your eyelids if you want your eyeshadow to stay put. How true that is, who knows!

I like the Bare Minerals one, it doesn't gather in the creases and keeps powder and liquid shadow in place.

@EarringsandLipstick I was eye-rolling at the typo I had made in the previous post ("Dyson").

The Rimmel one is brilliant and really cheap. I found it better than UD.
