Please help me decide on a new pair of winter boots

Must be flat as they are replacing my summer time converse for my go to school run shoe

I love all the styles so I’m struggling to pick

I will mostly be wearing them with skinny blue jeans or skinny black jeans

@CaptainWentworth yes I get where you’re coming from and I do the same. If I’m wearing wider leg jeans/trousers then I tend to wear a more cropped and boxier top then if I’m wearing skinny’s. Do you roll your jeans when you’re teaming them with the boots? I think as thinking i probs would with skinny jeans as they wouldn’t fit over the top of the boot but wasn’t sure what I’d do with my Mom jeans, whether I’d let them just sit over?

Btw, if you class yourself as old then I’m positively ancient at 46!! 🥴

They are being delivered today. Am stupidly excited!

@Rollergirl11 I do usually roll my jeans a bit - skinnys definitely don’t fit over, and with wider legs I think it looks better if they fall a bit higher up the boot. You’ll know what looks good when you try them on.

I don’t feel old and I don’t think you are either, I’m just aware that some of my ideas about dressing were probably set when I was a teenager and I sometimes need to reset/ update to stay current!

@Onedropbeat I got the Rayee boots which are grey faux suede biker boots with a furry lining.. sad but I really wanted a furry lining!!

I wear my hiker & biker boots with:
Skinny jeans tucked in or ankle grazers;
Looser fit rolled up jeans;
Mini dresses/ skirts with opaques

I also have some smart higher heeled ankle boots for nights out.
As well as several pairs of trainers of course.

@Rollergirl11 - I'm even more ancient!!!!

Can't wait to hear how you get on, I would be so excited too!!!!

Thanks @CaptainWentworth, I think you have swung me towards the Nanette!

Well they have arrived and I am over the moon with them! They are definitely much lighter than they look and feel comfortable and true to size. I’ve tried them on with some jeans and a dress so far. Excited to wear them out, whenever that may be!

😭😭😭 I’m not even allowed to look at boots this winter because I will end up buying some and I’ve already got quite a few, plus three pairs that I’ve not even worn...

So excited for those of you who are getting new boots!!

I bought Fitflop Maria ankle boots. They are plain black ankle boots with a side zip and fairly thick soles. They are like wearing slippers. I'll be honest, it was a risk because they look a bit crap and plasticky online (even though they're leather), but I really wanted mega comfort after living in trainers and Fitflop pumps all through lockdown.. They look much better in real life, especially now they're more worn and a bit less stiff in appearance. I found a discount code for them too!

fitflop skandiskate

Do people like these?

Bin the Converse. They are bad for your feet.

Chelsea boots/slip on boots tend not to fit that well. Not keen on biker boots.
Your hiker boots look great.
