Utter despair - no trousers for over lower tummy hang

Hi
I am overweight but the weight is disproportionately all round my lower tummy area. I had two csections 10 years ago and my stomach has never recovered. If I didn’t have this horrid over hang of skin I would probably be a size 14 all over. But I can’t fit into size 20 jeans or trousers due to the over hang. I could get bigger but then every other part is far too big. I hate my lower stomach - I’ve tried jeggings but a) they hurt my stomach and b) my stomach just looks like my bum in them.

I have some nice dresses and can do work formal ok but I just want to be able to chill at the weekends in jeans and a jumper but I just can’t find any. Does anyone else have a similar problem? Do I just face the fact I will never wear trousers or jeans again?

Just get some maternity jeans and trousers

Helpmyhair2019 · 18/11/2020 13:14

I just find that thought really depressing but I guess it’s the only option

Just think of it as practical that's all. You just need an elastic adjustable waist

What about leather look leggings with a long jumper/top - I find these can be stretchy over the tummy area but still nice and fitted over the legs.
There are loads of gorgeous knitted leisure suits (if thats what you call them) in all the shops at the moment. I bought a couple last week and look fab on!
I have the same stomach issues Hmm

What about mom jeans? They usually hit high on the waist so above the overhang area while also giving extra space for the overhang due to the shape of them

Helpmyhair2019 · 18/11/2020 18:44

Thank you for all the advice! I can find jeggings to fit but I’m tall so no tops to cover the tightness over my stomach. I have just ordered some mom jeans so I will let you know how I get on! Thanks

For long tops, try men's ranges

Uptoongirl · 18/11/2020 19:11

I'm the same and tbh I've totally given up on any trousers. I've concentrated on getting some nice dresses and tights.

I wonder if Harem trousers comfortable.

Thansk for the suggestion re hareem pants. Unfortunately I need something much more supportive around the lower tummy area. Shame as I love them!
