Hi All - My name is Manu. After trading NYC for Birmingham for my love, just before the pandemic hit, I am finally en route to working on my clothing rental business. Luckily I have found a very capable CTO. Essentially I'd like our business to focus on providing mamas a place they can borrow fashionable and comfortable items, save time/hassle shopping/sizing, save money and lastly help make a small diff in fashion industry to encourage less waste and more utility of clothes.

I would love to hear all moms to be and those (like me) planning to be pregnant in the next year or so. Many thanks for your time and thoughts.

We had a Penny-wise shop years ago.
You got people to bring it garments, they told you how much they wanted for each item.
If the item sold you took 20% as your cut.
We had to pay to join. £10 a year.
If clothing was over 3 months old, the person was called up and asked did they want to collect or donate.
The donated clothing was sold on eBay and 50/50 went to charity and the shop costs

Were these mothers who brought these items or general population?

It was a general shop, but you could angle it towards mums.
Remember there is nothing to stop you advertising the goods online, and this way you have free stock.

Good idea. TY! and agreed, esp since we will have our own e-comm store.

There’s a few sites like this already but they’re quite small from memory (though it was years ago when I used them) I hired an occasion dress when I was heavily pregnant for a wedding. Was a great idea.

Thank you for sharing. Glad you've tried the service. and that is exactly why our plan is to get this service right for the moms to be before moving into anything else. There are a few small maternity rental businesses, but we feel with about 700k babies a year in the UK we can do more to better serve the community.
