I think I like them and I love an alternative to jeans but I'm not completely sure!

I have been converted to cord jeggjngs this season - I never would have thought it. But they're super comfy and are very forgiving. I've got a couple of pairs in different colours which I wear with ankle boots.

MacDuffsMuff · 17/11/2020 22:34

Where did you get yours from @mynameiscalypso? I've seen a pair of straight legged ones but I'm worried that the might be a bit frumpy, so maybe jeggings would be better?

They're actually all supermarket buys - two from Sainsbury's (black and navy blue) and one from ASDA (a sort of dusky pink colour). Really pleased with all of them.

MacDuffsMuff · 17/11/2020 22:43

Oh even better! Sainsburys near me so will have a nose while I'm getting the shopping, thanks.

Totally love them. Have brown, green, navy. Smarter than jeans but easy to wear.

If your personal style lends itself easily to natutal or sporty looks, corduroy pants are a versatile addition to the always-needed 'practical pants' part of a wardrobe. So even when they start to look a bit worn they are good for moving house and running other physical errands.

Narrow cords are subtler. Chunky cords easier for those with a larger build to pull off.

Cords are super comfortable. I think corduroy jackets and trousers can work as a more informal version of velvet.

BillywigSting · 17/11/2020 23:43

I'm an absolute yay. But I've always loved cords.

I just like the texture of the fabric.

I have have three pairs of cord trousers, two cord dresses and a cord jacket. Three of these items are over 10 years old.

I think I might be a bit obsessed and not so much jumping on the bandwagon but riding in on it.

I had the best ever pair of cords from Marc Jacobs (HN sale) about 15 years ago. Guess I must have worn them till they fell apart.

But they can look unflatteringly bulky if not perfectly cut and exactly the right size.

Marks and Spencer do a lovely velvety cord legging.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/11/2020 00:20

Love cords. Today I wore some olive green peg-leg Topshop cords, and I have numerous others, i’m wFH at the moment and they are both comfy and warm.

Blondiney · 18/11/2020 00:35

I have a couple of straight legged pairs, bought from Hus years ago. Always felt a bit frumpy so never really wore them.

Might dig them out again...

PersonaNonGarter · 18/11/2020 00:37

Who is nay to cords? That would be a shame. Corduroy is the biggest comfort autumn has to offer. At least six pairs here.

MacDuffsMuff · 18/11/2020 07:35

Well I'm convinced!!

I have the M&S ones and really like them

coffeeandcardigans · 18/11/2020 10:39

Love everything cord and always have so I am delighted it is back in fashion! Currently have two pairs of wide legged cropped trousers, two pinafore style dresses, one pair of dungarees and one skirt! This thread has reminded me that back in around 2002 I had a dusty pink cord blazer which I wore until it fell apart. It was so soft and beautiful, I dream of finding something similar!

Floisme · 18/11/2020 10:46

I know some disapprove of the 'F' word but I am unashamed to say that, when they're in fashion, they look super cool and relaxed, and when they're out of fashion, they look droopy and sad. But then I'm shallow.

banivani · 18/11/2020 11:00

I’ve always loved the texture of corduroy but find it harder to wear without feeling bulky. I’m also 45 and can associate it with old fashioned children’s clothes (in skirts for example). My husband has two pairs of trousers with the ridges going sideways and they look good on him Grin

DOINGOURBIT · 18/11/2020 13:12

I love the M&S Cord Leggings, so much so that I've got navy blue and black pairs. But there's a fab Copper colour too.
