Wide calf wellies

Has anyone got any recommendations? A few years ago I managed to get a pair in primark that were brilliant but the heel is coming away now.
I don’t want to spend a fortune max £20-25. Are ankle wellies any good, in my head I feel like I need a full length boot to avoid mud splashed up clothes!

I'm watching with interest as these are on my Christmas list but mostly seem very expensive!

I like cotswold wellies - they do neoprene lined ones that are great. But over your budget at around £40 ( think Millets have them on offer at the moment). My last pair lasted a year of dog walking and horse mucking out.

I was going to say either of these Hunters, which is what I go for:

www.hunterboots.com/gb/en_gb/womens-wellington-boots/womens-norris-field-side-adjustable-wellington-boots/black/1084
..but they are pricey. They do have a two year warranty though, and usually last me 3-5 years of pretty heavy usage.

Otherwise, I borrowed my DSS's Kangol wellies the other day and they fitted my calves - £20 from Sports Direct

I'm wide of foot and I've got on well with Joules wellibobs. I think I prefer ankle boots now to full size wellies.

Two options I'd suggest:

  1. within your budget I got a bog standard green pair from B&Q years ago which are absolutely fine. Still going strong and I have no probs fitting my fat calves and trousers in them
  2. slightly above your budget, but specific for fat calves and nice designs to choose from and no where near the crazy prices of Hunters, have a look at Jileon wellies

Dunlop half height are really wide and Joules are good for a chunky leg too. At the cheaper end Asda are very wide too

I like Joules wellies with the adjustable band on. Saying that they don't last very long - 2 years max in my experience
