Quality brands - Big Birthday Treat

I’m about to turn 40 and I’ve decided that I need to invest more in quality items of clothing that I can wear for years as opposed to ‘fast fashion’. As a birthday gift, my husband has offered to treat me to a couple of items of clothing. I’ve always fancied a Barbour quilted jacket and some green Hunter wellies (I am frequently out walking the dog) but are these too chavvy? (Please excuse the expression, I’m using it as shorthand so as not to write a long post!) Essentially, I want to buy quality items but am loathed to spend money if I’m going to look ‘cheap’ (again, I’m using this expression as shorthand) Please help me decide which items to treat myself to! I’m not naturally stylish so am hoping a couple of well chosen items will help me look a bit more put together. Grin

I guess this depends on your lifestyle. I would say a good quality Barbour waxed jacket will last a lifetime and look better as it ages. Hunter wellies are crap and only last about 6 months!!!
Other suggestions:
A Burberry mac
A Chanel handbag
A white silk shirt
A quality Blazer
A black rollneck cashmere jumper
Any ok Bennett boots

All items that will last a lifetime

How about a handbag or leather jacket? As long as you choose the right ones they can be timeless and a good investment

Some lovely boots? Russel and Bromley or Fairfax and Favor for posh ones, Ariat or dubarry for good country boots
