Cheap cheap make up recommendations

Recently bought some lipstick and mascara from W7 and both were less than £4 each and they are amazing. Does anyone else have any super cheap finds that have impressed that you'd like to share?

Superdrugs do good ranges ( own brands, B Cosmetics , Revolution, ELF , Barry M )

Most have the Leaping Bunny (cruelty free logo)
Loads on 3 for 2

MrsJunglelow · 15/11/2020 12:45

Poundland.
Their nail hardener is fantastic, as are all their polishes.
I use their eyebrow pencil and lip liner/lipstick.

Before Poundland I used Superdrug MUA, they used to have, maybe still have, the most beautiful lipstick, I struggle to describe the shade, it was a sort of brownish red and I have never yet been able a find a lipstick colour as lovely.

Wilkinson's do a fab mascara, recommended on here, very reasonable.

DialsMavis · 15/11/2020 12:48

Yes to the Wilko Mascara, my make up artist friend recommended it to me. It's cheap as anything and cruelty free and vegan too

Grimble69 · 15/11/2020 13:21

ELF make up is cheap and good, plus not tested on animal. Free shipping from their website if you sign up. Their concealer, eye crayons lipsticks and eyeshadow quads have had good reviews.

I bought an ELF eyeliner pen a while back for tightlining* it was really good , bronze case so looked more expensive than it was .

*tightlining - apply on the upper lid near the eyelashes on the inside to make the lashline appear thicker as opposed to eyeline which would make my eyes look piggy .

I've probably got to replace it though

bookish83 · 15/11/2020 13:28

Superdrug brands esp Revolution
Collection concealer
NYX and Sleek... less cheap but still pretty good for what you get!

Feedingthebirds1 · 15/11/2020 15:12

Collection (used to be Collection 2000).

I haven't found a dud yet.

Also Boots own Natural Collection for some things but not all (my foundation is from there).

Duckwit · 15/11/2020 15:13

Primark foundation, the medium coverage one in the squeezy bottle. Its £2.50 and its unbelievably good - it's supposed to be a dupe for Armani Luminous Silk and I could well believe it!

JorisBonson · 15/11/2020 15:13

Seconded Poundland! Their liquid eyeliner is fantastic.

MadamShazam · 15/11/2020 15:31

Anything I've had from Collection has been brilliant. Rimmel is also pretty good too.

itsgettingcoldoutside · 15/11/2020 15:32

I second Poundland!! Their mascara is really good for sensitive eyes.! You can buy it online too.
Essance from wilko is also nice for budget makeup 💄

uncomfortablydumb53 · 15/11/2020 15:40

Revolution from Superdrug. In fact my favourite ever lipstick shade is from the range and only £4

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/11/2020 15:45

Wilko mascara. So cheap. Black lid and a purple body. Called essence.

L’Oréal foundation. Really good.

Spied · 15/11/2020 15:48

Poundland liquid eyeliner as recommend by Joris is the best I've ever used - and I've used many inc. Dior.

MrsA2017 · 15/11/2020 15:56

The Ordinary coverage foundation is like £6 and amazing!!!!

Inspirationpending · 15/11/2020 15:58

Was just coming on to say The Ordinary coverage foundation! Love it

JaffaJaffJaffpussycatpuss · 15/11/2020 21:59

I second wilkos essence range... Nigella recommended their princess lash mascara.
Their eyeshadows are excellent.
Collection are also v good and v decently priced. I get their eyes uncovered pallet often as gifts for friends, they are brilliant pigmentation and are around a fiver I think for about 6 shades!
I love makeup revolution too, they used to do single eyeshadows that were buttery and pigmented for only £1 but they may have stopped that. They are still cheap and good.
I've bought an ELF eye shadow set for a friend's birthday recently and it is lovely quality and a cute size.
Check out your local 'bodycare' shop for gems. I got a jumbo lip liner for 65p... ideal stocking filler!
Poundland lip liner is great. Check out 'miss budget beauty' on youtube.
I love to stumble upon cheap, but good quality makeup!!

QueenPaws · 15/11/2020 22:37

Elf eye putty primer
Elf bite size palettes
Wet n wild highlight
Wet n wild photo focus foundation
Essence mascara

liquoriceallsortfamily · 16/11/2020 09:24

Primark make up every time. X

CharitySchmarity · 16/11/2020 15:12

I like Essence, MUA (from Superdrug), Collection and George. But I wonder if George has been discontinued - in both branches of Asda near me, those shelves have been empty for a very long time.

sarahc336 · 16/11/2020 17:46

Aldi mascara and eye brow stuff. Their face stuff seems good to me too, very impressed with their makeup though

Teacup34 · 16/11/2020 18:02

Essence lash princess is brilliant I always used to spend over a tenner on mascara but I was skint and someone recommended essence on here,I gave it a go and loved it it was only about £3!!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/11/2020 22:12

I bought some of the Primark mascaras - DD likes the TwoFaced Better Than Sex mascaras , but gave the Primark ones a try .
Gold tube , in a box .

I won't buy a mascara that isn't sealed , I don;t want to take a chance that its been opened .
