Could I wear this as a wedding dress?

I’ve just seen this dress from the outnet advertised and I think I’m in love with it. I’m tempted to get it for my wedding but I’m getting married in August and I don’t know if it’s too dark? I’d be aiming for forest nymph vibes but I’m not sure if it comes across too winter-y. I’m not bothered that it’s not white, our daughter will be at the wedding so that ship has clearly sailed!

Just a heads up: the reason this is so heavily reduced is because the brand is Harvey Weinstein’s wife’s brand. While she is obviously not to blame for his behaviour, it was revealed that Harvey would force A-listers to wear the brand to promote it, which she must have been aware of.

Yes, it was saying that last night but when you try and buy it, it’s sold out. It’s a shame cos it’s stunning (and size 16 would be my size!) but the Harvey Weinstein thing does put me off it a bit anyway

I would blame the wife for her twat of a husband. If there are any left at all, even if too big, get in anyway and have it altered. You need a style like this to fit perfectly, which it never will off the peg. As others said its velvet, so if late August you will be okay, but early August can still be hot and you could bake.

It's such a pretty dress and I really love it when brides wear something other than a white dress or do something unique with the white dress. Don't let the fact that HW's wife wore the brand put you off - it's not the brand's fault that HW is who he is. I'm sorry it's sold out but you may find it by ringing the stores if they get a return.

Excellent idea. I had a friend did this for her wedding.

End result a dress even better than the original she saw as it was made to fit her.

I’m 5’8, so not quite model height but tall enough I think? I’m definitely not model slim though

5'8" is a good height for a maxi dress like the one you linked too.

Someone like me 5'3" (ish) no so much, unless it's made for someone short.

Absolutely! Very Anna from Frozen. It's beautiful. My wedding dress was black and cream so I'm not one for tradition. I'd have the bridesmaids in plain green or blue though, so you don't all look too similar.

She makes the most wonderful dresses, I’ve had a couple of them from Outnet. I agree that they are reduced so heavily because of her association with Weinstein but she’s clearly a wonderful designer and she’s not to blame for her husband. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to have been married to him. It’s a fantastic way to get some truly high end dresses for great prices

It’s gorgeous & because of the sheer sleeves & upper will be lovely for a summer wedding. I would even wear it in the winter/spring/autumn with a vintage fur wrap. I did wear something similar for my summer 1977 wedding.💕🙂
