Does anyone know why Mac lipsticks on eBay are so much cheaper? Are they fakes?

There's a couple I'd like to try but wary

There are fakes on ebay

Sorry about the link but I read about dangerous fake makeup years ago, just copied the first link so you could see

Yes they are fake, don't even go there!

Fake Mac lipsticks are rife🤮 and have been dominating eBay etc for at least a decade

Are you familiar with Mac lipsticks? If not, it will be hard for you to spot the difference. I can tell by the packaging, label, shape, scent, texture etc.

Why don’t you just buy mini lipsticks directly from Mac or an authorised retailer? John Lewis had them for £8 each recently, and there will be lots of offers on as Black Friday arrives.

I genuinely see no point in buying makeup from somewhere like eBay as I wouldn’t want anything used, let alone fake.

Hi, yes I've lots. I don't like the mini ones so was just wondering about eBay...

If anything like that is significantly cheaper than the RRP, it's fake. Makeup is particularly nasty if it is fake. I once bought a Real Techniques brush set off ebay which was quite a bit cheaper than normal, and in the pictures looked pretty legit, but once it arrived it was clearly fake (although the bushes were still usable) and I took that as a lesson learnt.

I do occasionally buy beauty bits off ebay (eg. I buy a salon loreal hair toner from a seller on there) but the price is the same, its just the p and p is usually free and they always seem to have all shades in stock whereas places like Sally's don't.

But not high end makeup, no way.

I've bought GWP a few times, never had a problem with these but I can see why the usual stuff is risky
