Should I sell it?!

Someone wants to buy this jacket from me and i dont know whether to or not! I found it in a charity shop with tags still on. It's really good quality and a beautiful colour and velvet

However I find it difficult to wear because I'm not sure what to pair it with, it's so in your face. I'm torn because I dont really wear it so might as well pass it on, at the same time something is holding me back...

What do you reckon?

If you are not reaching for it, no point in keeping it.

ZadieZadie · 14/11/2020 07:09

I agree - if you don't wear it and someone else might it's a no brained to sell.

Veterinari · 14/11/2020 07:17

Sell it.

fabulous40s · 14/11/2020 07:22

Sell

AllByMySelfDontWannaBe · 14/11/2020 07:25

Thanks everyone I'm selling it! Think it's just that thing where you think "oh but I found such a good deal!" But if you dont wear it and someone else really likes it, it's better to take the money and let someone else be happy with their find! Thanks again :)

Agree, sell it.

HelpMeh · 14/11/2020 07:28

I disagree. If you love it, keep it until you know won't regret its departure. How much did you pay for it? How much are they offering?

AllByMySelfDontWannaBe · 14/11/2020 07:33

My problem is I'm not sure I love it @HelpMeh but I do really like it! I just never seem to wear it.

I paid 15 for it, shes offering 80, it retailed for more

I actually asked the charity shop if the price was a mistake and they said no 👀

In which case take the money and run Grin

FreiasBathtub · 14/11/2020 07:35

Oh, for that I would TOTALLY sell it and buy myself something I like and will wear. It's not a bargain if you never use it. Think of it as an excellent short-term investment?

justanotherneighinparadise · 14/11/2020 07:40

Oh god sell!

pictish · 14/11/2020 07:45

Sell it. It fits you nicely but the colour is pretty ick...though I realise taste is subjective. It’s too shiny for my liking.

BlueCowWonders · 14/11/2020 07:48

I suspect you like the idea of it rather than the reality. Get rid!

MoltonSilver · 14/11/2020 08:30

If you're not sure you love it then you don't love it. Sell it. Its just cluttering up your wardrobe making you feel bad for not wearing it.

MargosKaftan · 14/11/2020 08:40

I've had bargains like that- I think oxfam often prices dresses and jackets from high end high street around £15, even if its clearly unworn. I have a silk whistles dress from oxfam I got with tags still on (but not price on tag) for £16, and a cashmere jeager jumper for £10.

If you don't wear it, then sell it on. Spend the £80 on something you will wear.

AllByMySelfDontWannaBe · 14/11/2020 08:42

@BlueCowWonders Spot on!!!
@pictish I agree, the cut is nice and I do love velvet but this would have been way better in like a dark green or midnight blue or something. The pink is too much!
@MoltonSilver That's a good point. Unworn clothes DO make you feel bad somehow, dont they?!

If you really loved it you wouldn't be able to think of letting it go, so selling seems to be the right thing.

I'd love to find a blazer like that, though I'd probably change the buttons.

pictish · 14/11/2020 10:16

The colour makes it the sort of item an 80 year old would wear to dinner while on a cruise.
