Winter work look - recommend me a boot

Hi,

I started a job this year where I need to wear "work clothes". So far I've been wearing some ankle grazing black trousers with smart tops (as recommended on here) and heels.

I've always been in uniform previously so I don't know what looks good currently but I need to change my look for winter.

I want flats - boots? Can anyone recommend some and if so, what trousers do I get to go with them?! I don't want to be skidding all over either so a good grip will help.

Thank you! HELP

Wear with cropped slim trousers or black leggings/skinny jeans.

Have to admit I can not abide leggings. Am I ok wearing jeans into work?

@PerfidiousAlbion thanks, do they have any grip? I tend to park a bit away and walk but I'm in the north and our winters aren't the best.

Although I suppose I could change into them once at work

They have an anti-slip coating on the sole.

Thankfully, I haven’t had to put it to the test yet!
You could get a cobbler to put a ‘grippy’ sole on them if you’re worried.

I have these boots from Clarke’s which I love!

They’ve lasted me 2 years and still look brand new. They’re very sturdy and have really good grip. They might be too casual for work though, my work is pretty relaxed, I tend to wear dark jeans, a blouse and a cardigan or jacket with these but they work with a casual dress and leggings too.

I'm a really cold person and my office is always cold so I wear boots to work 8 months of the year. Any leather Chelsea boot generally looks smart. I don't think they ever look really great with work trousers and unless your office is casual you probably can't wear jeans to work. Sometimes I wear them with ankle grazer trousers, other times with rolled up chinos and they look ok but I wouldn't wear them that way no for work.
Instead of trousers I often wear dresses with tights and find these look much better with boots and mean when its particularly cold I can get away with knee length ones for extra warmth.
