Hi everyone,

So I am really crap at sticking to my skincare regime.

I ALWAYS forget to take my make up off etc on a night but in the morning I will double cleans, use acids, serums, moisturise etc

My skin still looks shit!

Daft question, but is it showing no improvement because I don’t do my routine on a night?

You really should cleanse before bed, even if that's all you do, but preferably you'd moisturise as well.

Absolutely you need to double cleanse at night, it's the most important step in the skincare routine.

I'm no expert but from what I've read you should be using your actives at night as they are photo sensitive.

Not cleansing at night means pollution, dirt, sweat etc is sitting on your skin for hours at a time.

I've started using the Soap and Glory cleansing balm. Really quick and easy. You can use that as your first step in a double Cleanse.

At night, I mean.

I have really good skin with a really minimal routine. I hardly wear make up but if I do and don’t take it off before bed, my skin looks bad the next day.

I would bin everything else in favour of washing your face in the evening when you’ve been wearing make up. Or just take it off when you’ve come in from being out.

Washing your face at night really does make a massive difference. If I skip a night because I'm too knackered, my skin always looks awful the next day. I keep my night routine quite simple. Double cleanse, retinol toner and a rose or vitamin e facial oil. Works wonders.
