Apologies if this has been done but I did a search and got lots of threads about desserts!!

Just wondering if anyone uses beauty pie and if they rate it? I keep debating, mainly because I’m a candle addict! Very interested to hear any thoughts.

I liked it. Some stuff I thought was really good and some stuff I wasn't fussed on. I'm not convinced on their pricing models though!

I have a membership. I bought a lot originally but I've been letting my allowance build up recently as I've not needed anything. I'm tempted to do a big order soon and cancel for a while.

I like the products, but I struggle with their stock levels, it seems like as soon as I like something, it goes out of stock.

I've found there's a balance between ordering as soon as something comes into stock to make sure you get it and saving up for a big order as you have to pay postage each time no matter how big/small your order is.

I like it.

Haven't tried their candles as I have a candle subscription and tend to support small candle businesses

The issue I find is if you have a low level membership you can't get very much each month as it goes off the RRP so say your allowance is £150..... A serum is £80 (you pay £20), a shampoo is £60 (you pay £11) that's £140 and you can't get anything else.

Personally I thought it was a rip off, the products weren’t very good quality (specifically an eyeliner I bought which I applied as I would the laura mercier I normally wear - by the time I got back from an evening out I looked like Alice Cooper.

I really don’t get the fuss - it seems like a scam, and worse still I forgot to cancel after that first bad experience and got the subscription taken for several months without realising. Despite the fact I didn’t use them at all they would only refund the payment that had just gone out when I realised. All in all I’d recommend avoiding like the plague!!

It works for me as their hair stuff and bb cream and perfume are great for me.
I have now through trial and error got skincare to work with bp products too.
Make up is hit and miss, nail polish is good, candles (last winter not more recent rebranding) smelt good but left a lot of soot up the side of white pot (although Im bad at remembering to trim wicks...).

I used them for a few months, mainly just bought makeup from them.

The RRP prices are bollocks in my opinion. The make up is okay but no better than Maybelline or Rimmel.

The make up is terrible and the scents are horrible.

But some of the skincare is great. It really depends what price bracket you shop in. If you normally spend quite a lot, you will not find that these are equivalent to products that actually sell at the ‘RRP’. But some of the skincare does hold up against mid-price products.

Some of the skincare is excellent - the Uber youth serum is very good. The healthy skin shower gel’s lovely and smells wonderful and the candles are good. I’ve been really disappointed in all the make up I’ve ordered. Like a pp, I’m tempted to do a big order to use my quite large amount of accumulated credit and then bin it off for a while.

I have to say that I only bought one item of make up and wouldn't buy make up again but I like the skincare as I said before.

I don't have a subscription at the moment. I let my subscription build up and then bought a load of products which I am still working through though I will probably resubscribe for certain things again but

I do think their suggest RRP vs allowance is a bit of a joke. I only subscribed in the first place as I'd been through a serious health condition and felt I deserved to treat myself (anx wax concerned that being seriously I'll would make me look old lol). I also didn't experience any "pie day's" during my term or feel that that as a "member of the club" I was particularly valued. They could definitely up their game.

I have a £10 a month subscription.
I like the retinol products and vit c serum and the cleansers have all been nice.
Make up I don't really rate.
Hair products I ordered during lockdown weren't impressive either
Only had one candle and it was £16 smelled great.
Agree with others the RRP are vastly elevated.

The prices have shot up so much since March. They used to do price breakdowns of all the products but have stopped that now. Their new reed diffuser is £34 with a recommended price of £100! Jo Malone diffusers are £64 and they are an established luxury brand. The diffuser would cost a BP member £44 when you include the allowance. Postage is extra.

I am an annual member but I will be cancelling at the end of the year because the whole brand just leaves a bit of a bad taste.

The ‘RRP’s are plucked from thin air, they handle brand comms so badly (BLM in particular as well as so many other occasions), they aren’t honest about the role that weird Marcia Kilgore plays - she is meant to be the founder, but the actual accounts at Companies House say otherwise - and so on. Its got a bit of a tin-pot feel about it.

I was a member for a couple of years. I like the foundation and the gel eyeliners. One powder wonder is good too. The scented candles are also lovely.

The skincare is good I think but I am quite low maintenance really and am just as happy with Avene and Cerave on a Boots 3 for 2.

In the end I got bored of it and am quite relieved to have stopped. I ended up buying stuff I didn't really need.

The skincare is really good. I have a few serums and the japanfusion one in particular leaves a wonderful glow. I like the oxygen mask too. Makeup is dreadful though and I don’t like the body scrub I have. Candles are nice though. I have a £5 membership now and have my eye on the vit c serum

The products are nice enough (I like a fair bit of the make up, but find the skincare makes extravagant claims that I'm not convinced by. Like most skincare!)

What made me cancel was the constant price increases (it's really not cheap when you factor in the subscription, postage and the cost of buying things you don't need because of marketing hype!) I don't mind paying for decent products as a treat - but I don't need to be stuck into a subscription model and brain washed about how to wonderful and cheap everything is for the privilege of doing so.

Love most of the skincare I've tried, especially the super retinol and the new vitamin c serum. Also very happy with the fragrances and candles. Love some of the cosmetics (the eye crayons that look like Laura Mercier ones and the one powder wonder) but most don't do it for me, and no interest at all in body products, hair products, and supplements. I think it's a good deal if you'd otherwise be buying high end skincare and such, and if you pay attention and move your subscription between £5 and £10 as befits your needs. Postage and packing isn't cheap, but I tend to buy in bulk every so often so it's better value. I can't imagine buying something every month!

I keep edging towards Beauty Pie because of the incessant social media pics of gorgeous cleansers, etc, but then backing away, largely because of threads like these, which balance out the wide-eyed 'we use the best Swiss beauty labs and save you thousands!' marketing.

I'm pretty sure the M&S Formula range was 'whispered' by their marketing dept to be developed in the same labs as A Very Expensive Brand indeed. And of course Bourjois was totally Chanel in cheaper packaging, and I am the same person biologically as Kate Middleton but wrapped in a lot more chub.
