What to do with frizzy hair??

My hair literally looks like Monica from friends Shock

With this weird rainy weather, my hair goes from straight and sleek to puffy and kinky within minutes. Any tips on how to combat this??

I’m still working throughout lockdown and my frizzy hair looks really unpresentable. Although I feel more comfortable with it down, I’m happy to tie it back. But even when tied back it still looks like a bird’s nest with all the frizz and kinks near my roots. Send help

The only thing that helps me is my GHDS.

I straighten thin bits of hair starting from right underneath and work up later by layer. It flattens all the frizzy out.

Is your hair naturally wavy / curly? If so on wet days you should actually go with the curl rather than fighting it... there are products such as Umberto Gianni Curl Jelly which are really good.
Also John Frieda Frizz Ease products are good.

Naturally it is straight but not perfectly so? There isn’t a defined wave. It just looks puffy more than anything! It is fairly dry in this weather too.

I am considering bringing my GHDs to workBlush might be OTT thoughGrin

You could look into some kind of keratin treatment. My hair frizzes in high humidity and rain - having a keratin treatment was life changing (if expensive)

Curly girl method all the way.

throwaway10000 · 09/11/2020 20:13

@thereplycamefromanchorage thank you. I have heard about these. Do you think it weighed your hair down?

@Adamandtheaunts thanks, I didn’t think my hair would be a contender for curly girl but I’ll definitely try it out. What products do you use now?

It didn't weigh my hair down at all - it was my hair, just without frizz. Unfortunately the treatment I had, Kebelo, is now discontinued, otherwise I would be recommending it. Have heard Kerasilk is similar though, but I have yet to try it.

I'd defo do curly girl and go with it

Stay away from glycerin in hair products!

IME its all about the conditioner. Use any shampoo but invest in good conditioner that has smoothing or antifrizz claims.

L'Oreal has one, there used to be one in the Herbal Essences range.

When wet use a tiny amount of antifrizz serum; John Frieda or Loreal do them.

Blowdry with a paddle brush and a hollow round brush for finishing.

DM bought me many moons ago a brush that clamps over the hair. It is probably terrible as it pulls the hair but my hair is very thick so can withstand. Even just a hair dryer and this brush get it pretty smooth.

Go over with straighteners.

grassisjeweled · 10/11/2020 02:16

You can get mini hair straighteners you know? I used them all the time when in the office

Blush

Sorry for the ridiculous link

Hershesons Almost Everything Cream has helped de-frizz mine. Not too expensive and lasts well.
