Shoes to go with a skirt

Hi everyone,

I like to wear 50s style skirts, with tights in the winter, and I'm in need of some winter boots/shoes to go with. I have a pair of black loafers which I wear but I'd like some footwear with more coverage. I also have some DM boots to break in. Budget is no more than £100 preferably £75 or less (I'm a student) and needs to have an inch heel at least. Preferably darker colours and support in the ankle if boots

Thanks :)

Clarks Hamble brogues? So comfortable abs in a few colour ways.

I'd recommend breaking those DMs in and save your coins! Leave them on a radiator or near warm oven for a bit and wear thick socks and put them on, blast with hairdryer on hot for a couple of minutes each. I stomp all over mine too, flatten the back down and all sorts to soften them. Well worth it though, I've got pairs older than me!

I've got the vegan plastic patent ones and it's mainly right at the back of my heel/Achilles tendon where they rub, is there anything that'll stop that. I've even tried putting duct tape over the offending seems, which takes the edge off but still isn't great

or

either of these would go with pencil or circle skirts.

Ooooh thanks. I definitely prefer the second pair, but having a more substantial heel is a big breaking point due to foot issues, so I think that rules those out as well

Try flattening the back of the boot down and bending it and folding it, the plastic should soften if it's heated slightly and then it'll fit to your foot better. DH has the vegan ones and he had the same issue. He suggests plenty of plasters already on your achilles area when you wear them in but heat will do the trick.
