I want shiny hair!

I’ve been watching The Undoing and can take or leave Nicole Kidman but am lusting after her best friend’s hair - it’s straight and blonde and amazingly glossy. My hair is that straight and I can sort the colour but can anyone recommend products or drying tips for that shine?

I have thick, frizz prone hair. Not the shiny type. I bought a Panasonic Nanoe hairdryer and for the first time in my life I have shiny hair. So many nice comments over my work Zoom callsSmile
I also just use Elvive Extraordinary Oil serum; nothing special but it really works well and finishes the shine nicely.
This hairdryer has been life changing; all for the sake of £60 in Boots.

Do you have hard water? Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a cup of water, rinse it through your hair at the beginning of your shower. Rinse it out thoroughly and do your normal routine.
Do you blow dry your hair? Do it on the lowest heat setting, or do it on cold.

Weekly coconut oil massage (leave in for 2 hours) then wash. Use the extra virgin stuff, not processed masks. Heat the oil so it stimulates the scalp when you massage it in.

If you're colouring your hair, olaplex or bond fusion conditioner weekly. Stops hair looking straw like.

Use the L'Oréal hair oil spray after drying. It gives it a good gloss.

Eat more protein. That's what hair needs. This is what makes hair healthy, genetics and diet is a large part. Can't fight genetics but you can change diet.

I hate saying this, I have super shiny hair. My hair stylist uses it as advertising on his facebook etc.
Sadly it is because I have super fine/oily hair. It is hair type rather than hair care.

I do use salon shampoos and avoid blowdrying and heat but to be honest when I blowdry my hair it makes no difference.

I also have super shiny hair, although mine is thick - people comment on it all the time. I think it’s partly because I am very dark, but I switch between Liz Earle shampoo/conditioner, and a coconut pair from Boots, and use a Parlux to dry it. I also get it trimmed every five weeks so it never has a chance to get dry ends.

Like pp mine gets greasy very quickly, and absolutely has to be washed daily.

I'm 52 and my hair has always been very shiny. I don't use anything special on it - just normal shampoo, but it's fine and it gets very greasy. I have to wash it every day.
