Long lashes

Are there any mascaras that actually, genuinely give length? It’s all about volume now, isn’t it? I’m too old for that heavy “loads of lash” heavy lidded look 😐

Have you had them dyed at all? The end bits are lighter but if you dye them they'll look longer .

And , if you use your mascara on the tips first , let it dry , then do the whole lengths , you'll get a double layer .

I haven't worn mascara in ages , my lashes are tragic , but if I do , then eyelash curlers are a must too !

Benefit bad girl bang is a good one for lengthening.

CharlottesComplicatedWeb · 08/11/2020 22:00

I used to have them dyed, years ago, when I had much more lash. They’re sparse now.

I’ll have a look at the Benefit product.

Thanks.

Just updating. Have bought and tried Max Factor Masterpiece Max. Like it. Not claggy. Ice thin brush so I don’t end up with it everywhere. Also, one of the few brands who still do brown/black so, not as harsh on a chilly winters’ morn! 😉

Nice thin brush! 🤦‍♀️

I have started using GOSH Brow Serum, GOSH Lash Serum and GOSH Growth Mascara.

I can really tell with my eyelashes, not so much with my brows (I overplucked as a teen once and they never grew back underneath) but I'm
Going to keep at it.

Superdrug sep it.

CharlottesComplicatedWeb · 11/11/2020 12:42

@Mamadothe... interesting. Thanks for that. Will have a look. My brows have gone sparse too but it’s an age thing, I know. At least I’m still here!

If you have the money and time I'd get lash extensions. The girl who does mine does them so they look really natural but lovely and long, costs me 40 for a full set and last about 3 weeks then get an infill for 20. I don't bother with anything else 'high maintenance' but can't go without my lashes 😂

I've started getting lash lift and tint as I felt the fake lashes felt too heavy for me
fastandthecurious · 11/11/2020 14:41

@Mamadothe I was going to suggest a lash lift as my lash tech does these too but she was saying you have to have quite full lashes and as OP says hers are sparse I thought false ones might work better. They don't feel like I ha e anything on my eyes when I have mine done but it might be because I've had a set on my eyes for years 😂

fastandthecurious · 11/11/2020 14:43

Also was just thinking. Castor oil for your eyebrows, I know people that use it have said theirs grow well with them. I don't personally know because mine are quite thick naturally

CharlottesComplicatedWeb · 11/11/2020 22:36

Now I have lash envy! I’m thinking my lashes are a little fragile for anything too invasive.

What about eye lash curlers? Those squeezy things. The price of them varies massively though.

Not what you asked, but on the basis of advice on here, I have been using Rapidlash for a few weeks now and I’m very impressed. My lashes were getting sparse and are already longer and seem thicker.

afaloren · 12/11/2020 15:24

I always, without fail, curl my lashes before mascara and it makes more of a difference than anything. I use a Kevyn Aucoin (sp?) curler and for mascara I like Urban Decay Perversion or Benefit They’re Real.

Audreyseyebrows · 12/11/2020 15:30

Lash lift and tint for me too. If you find the right person they are gentle on your lashes and really effective. I brush through them in the morning and look like I have the best mascara! If I want extra wow I use clear mascara.

nevernotstruggling · 13/11/2020 09:52

A lash serum and benefit bad gal bang. My serum is one off Amazon

𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗨𝗠 Eyelash Growth Serum for Longer/Fuller/Thicker Lashes - Enhancer Serum for Lashes/Brows/Lash Extensions - Ophthalmologist/Dermatologist Developed https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07P436QMG/ref=cmswwrcppapiii2CLRFbHJW7HYD?encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I've tried lipocils and rapid lash. This one actually seems to be working!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/11/2020 09:55

I've tried all types of eyelash curlers , even invested in The Holy Grail Shu Uemura ones .......... I keep going back to my very elderly first pair of BodyShop curlers . Gold/bronze colour metal.

Nothing else (including newer BodyShop ones) have come close
