Anyone else watching CNN?

Anyone else been glued to CNN election coverage? I know news presenters are usually well groomed but I’m really impressed by what I’ve seen this week. All of them seem to have found the perfect balance of looking really polished but natural (excluding eyelash extensions). It really reminded me of that bit in the film Working Girl when Sigourney Weavers character quotes Coco Chanel, dress impeccably and they remember the women.

But what I can’t figure out is how so many have achieved lots of volume at the roots of their hair while keeping the rest looking sleek and not like they’ve just escaped from the 80s. What is their secret, anyone know.

Some kind of volumising hot air brush styler like the Revlon one, or maybe some root crimping? It’s probably the signature of whoever is doing hair and make up.

Lots of hairspray and root volumising spray OP. Obviously at the root only. Have you tried Tresemme 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray?

OP I’m obsessed too!!! Loving CNN, it’s so dynamic and the presenters/reporters are incredibly smooth and charismatic (as well as extremely gifted and professional). Makes British news look very drab...

Yes!!!!!! Have firstly been loving the CNN coverage full stop.

But I also have full on CNN correspondent envy. They all look amazing, and not in a plasticky way like Fox

Abby Philip, Dana Bash, Kate Bolduan, Kaitlan Collins, Gloria Borger - they all look polished and professional

American blow dries are amazing.

We just don’t seem to be able to do it the same in the U.K., no matter the product or tool!

watch The Morning Show with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston I imagine it is pretty much the way it is with a small army of make up artists, hairdressers and stylists just outside camera range.

But I agree, they do look amazing.

I know this is style but I have to say they make the BBC look like bumbling amateurs. It just can't put my finger on what the difference is. Maybe it's the lack of vox pops of idiots. Or because they give everyone a chance to speak, don't cut in or rush through and actually give depth instead of reporting to the lowest common denominator.

Plus, everyone seems articulate and knowledgeable about their area. As someone who lives in Scotland who watches British journalists reporting stories about Scotland that are often slightly off or just plain nonsense it's quite refreshing. Ive been so surprised and impressed. All the presenters look great and the best version of themselves instead of fake like I assumed was the norm on US news.

That’s it’s @Amortentia - fake was the word I was looking for. And they aren’t! Just very polished and professional and really knowledgeable
