Does anyone have an really good lip balm recommendations? My lips are really dry, I found some Vaseline in my draw so using that at the moment.

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. Odd smell but so efficient.

throwaway10000 · 08/11/2020 16:44

@userxx it is for some. It might depend on how much filler you get? Last year my lips were massive but since getting it dissolved and redone, my lips haven’t been as dry

PenOrPencil · 08/11/2020 16:54

Pawpaw balm or O’Keefe’s. I prefer the O’Keefe’s for out and about as you don’t have to use your fingers.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Balm, from seoul&beauty. Korean, and very nice. Also the Nuxe and the Elemis minty lip balm for a coat pocket.

choosername1234 · 08/11/2020 18:12

Lansinoh nipple cream, great for nipples, lips and any cracked skin - fingers etc

alexdgr8 · 08/11/2020 18:14

chapstick original. black label. it's the camphor.

DailyCandy · 08/11/2020 18:14

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm is hands down the best.

Even prefer it to Creme de la Mer lip balm.

I like Burts Bees -just bought the pomegranate one

DD has - Hurraw Lemon, Huuraw Night, Lanolips Lemon , Burts Bees Night Balm
She uses a Lush Lip Scrub in the shower .

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/11/2020 19:45

The mini tubs of valentine are the best. I've been using them for 18 years. Tried different things but nothing comes close.

tsmainsqueeze · 08/11/2020 19:49

espa , pink pomelo , around 10.00 but lasts ages .

mscongeniality · 08/11/2020 20:04

Dr paw paw! Tried them all and this is the best

mscongeniality · 08/11/2020 20:08

I don't like the waxy texture of burts bees and blistex, eos is the same hated it. I've tried the glossier and again too thick for my liking.
Dr paw paw just melts into your lips. Aquaphir is also good, I put that on at night before bed as it's a bit more heavy duty!

lambo88 · 08/11/2020 20:31

Carmex 100% xx

squishee · 10/11/2020 10:33

Are the Carmex ones minty though? All the minty ones irritate my lips.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel can be grainy, even with the goode olde formulation of yore. Sometime last year it was reformulated with more shea butter, and the new version just cakes onto my lips without moisturising them much. Horrible.

Still watching with interest... Might give Lansinoh a try if it can be applied straight from the tube without using a finger. Does it sink right in, or leave a film on the lips?

Thanks for the thread OP! I'm very particular about lip balm, can't do without it!

EatPrayYoga · 10/11/2020 11:02

Yes the Carmex is kind of minty / mentholy

uncomfortablydumb53 · 10/11/2020 14:28

Carmex I've used it for years Yellow pot

RogueV · 10/11/2020 14:28

Carmex and burts bees

EndlessWaffle · 10/11/2020 14:39

I see Carmel is popular but I didn't like it, too greasy and weird medicinal smell.
I use one with hyaluronic acid called Episilk. You can find it online. About £20 but lasts 6 months.

Whatever you go for the key is more in HOW YOU USE IT:
DON'T slick it on every 10 mins all day, you'll make the problem worse.
DO slap on a generous amount before going to sleep, let it sit there all night and awake healed and (if the product is good) plumped.
EVERY NIGHT no exceptions.

(DH hates it though!)

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 10/11/2020 21:01

Carmex or lanolips, or original paw paw ointment.
I brought something ages ago, from primark of all places, and it was called overnight lanolin lip treatment or something, and it came in a little tub for about £3.50.
It was honestly so so good, and I’ve never seen it in there since. I would have bought twenty if I’d known how good it was!

LilyRed · 10/11/2020 22:16

Nuxe reve de miel in the pot, morning and evening, rub it in really well! Oh and I never allow anyone to use my lip balms. Anything with lanolin used to work for me too.

AgathaTabathaBagatha · 10/11/2020 22:45

Burts Bees - only the "Beeswax" one. Forget the others.

Housewife2010 · 11/11/2020 19:19

I've tried the Augustinus Bader lip balm today. It's £30. I got it in a beauty box and obviously wouldn't rebuy at that price, but it is incredible! I applied it at 2, I've had two cups of tea and dinner and it's still there! I've used By Terry lipbalm before which is a similar price and wasn't really impressed as it has a heavy scent. This is an unflavoured, unscented stick and if I could afford it, so far I'd rebuy.

Tinks15 · 11/11/2020 19:40

I can’t believe how many responses I’ve had on this thread thanks everyone. I’m still yet to purchase one as I can’t decide what to go for 😆 it’s between two. I’m probably going to end up buying both. One for handbag one for home.

Laneige lip sleeping balm. The one and only. And I’ve tried them all. Seems expensive but a pot lasts forever. You can get smaller pots to try too on yesstyle (I tried one for about £3 for a tiny pot - and even that lasted ages).

NotMeNoNo · 11/11/2020 20:44

I was getting an allergic reaction so I've gone back to blue tin Vaseline, nothing else. It's the only single ingredient product.
