I've just moved house. Have always lived in flats before and am finding it very cold here. Has anyone come across any really warm dressing gowns that wouldn't be better suited to my five year old? Google has not been my friend so far. Any suggestions much appreciated!

I find the White Company hydrocotton dressing gowns warm and cosy. They have a navy one at the moment which I have that is warm

Elvesinquarantine · 08/11/2020 21:47

Mine is from Morrisons...
All my teens try and steal it!!

I’ve got a dressing gown from the a White Company and it’s boiling in our warm house so would work in a cold property.

dudsville · 08/11/2020 21:59

Oh my, waltzingparrot, I never need to be that warm but I love that, looong and with a hood. I may have to break the boiler.

i have an ankle length fleece dressing gown, with a high neck and a zip, from m and co. it's fabulous!

Rina66 · 09/11/2020 07:54

I’m considering getting an oodie for this winter, day and night, not exactly a dressing gown but definitely looks warm!

lowbudgetnigella · 09/11/2020 08:14

I always find with younger kids the fleecy onesies that go over pyjamas are better, dressing gowns are more restrictive if they are playing in the morning. Mine love a fleecy blanket for watching tv too.
Thus sort of thing, size up

I have this one but in a sort of fairisle pattern. I have / have had many robes, but this one has stayed the course because it's so cosy, not bulky, washes like new and the inside stays fluffy.

Every time I put it on I still think what a good buy it was.

Oh, I should say it was from Joules, shouldn't I sigh I've been up since 4:00 AM and I'm starting to flag Grin

My most expensive item of clothing is my dressing gown. It was a massive extravagance but I have no regrets!

I have the Honey Hooded, made wider and shorter to fit my dumpiness Grin

I managed to miss all my notifications... Thank you so much! These look so much better than anything I found.

I love those robes Olive. I was going to say get the best quality towling,
Velour or wool mix you can afford. They will last many years.
I have something similar, it’s at least 10 years old and has worn into the comfy stage, sooo comfortable and cosy.

I just worked out I've had mine for about 25 years... though I'll confess it doesn't get daily use (except in the depths of winter) as it's very, very warm!

LizzieMacQueen · 13/11/2020 09:19

@Surinamtoad

I've got an earlier version of this B for Ted Baker at Debenhams. It's glam and warm. Size down though, they're large.

PS. You only get MN notifications I believe, if someone tags (@) you.

I have a previous incarnation of this, it's incredibly warm and as such it's only had one or two outings this year

@LizzieMacQueen

Thank you for the explanation! The dressing gown is beautiful too.

Remember to get one with pockets. One day it may be The Dressing Gown Of Doom.
Must therefore have pockets!

I've just got one from new look. They've got money off everything at the moment. It's lovely.
