Anyone else thinking this might be a good time to just fuck it all in the bin and start again?

My wardrobe is an absolute shit show. A complete mish mash of stuff I hate that I pretty much own out of necessity. I’d say there are are only about 10 items (outside of my gym clothes) that I like.

My underwear and even socks are atrocious. Due to foot issues over the past few years I don’t even really own any shoes expect a couple of generic ‘dressy’ pairs that I would have bought for a wedding or similar.

Given that I’m unlikely to go anywhere in the next 6 months, I am working from home now and have been since March, I’m considering resorting to just wearing active wear full time, treating myself to a few new bits, a job load of plain pants and socks and then just throwing all of my clothes apart from those 10-odd things that I like away.

Am I mad?

Has anyone done the full Marie Kondo?

I did clothes, books and paperwork last year but then got stuck at the ‘everything else’ category. I’m hoping to go back to it over this lockdown and I’m hoping this clothes cull will spur me on!

I am in the middle of a major major chuck out. Clothes and make up. I know I will feel better for it. I had clothes everywhere. I do need new knickers though. For some reason the ones I bought recently although 18/20 all seem very baggy. Fed up of putting hands in pockets hoiking my kix and leggings up. I could pretend I have lost weight, but sadly nope. I guess the elastic has given up on me!

It’s done! I forgot to take a pic of the piles but I chucked 2 black bags worth of utter crap (clothes, undies, socks, shoes, makeup, toiletries) and There is about half a black bag’s worth of salvageable clothes for passing on. As I said before, I did a pretty serious Kondo last year and got rid of much more then do it might not sound too bad but I have literally stripped it back to the bone. I even got rid of some gym more stuff that I wasn’t planning to part with. But looking at it, it was pretty grotty so I think I’ll replace.

Also did a bin bag’s worth of stuff from DS’s wardrobe, bagged up to pass on. And I had DH our sorting the shed all day too Grin

There will be multiple tip runs tomorrow!

I can see everything I have now. It feels very liberating. I actually feel like I might wear some of the nicer things I kept next week now rather than active wear every day like I have been. I almost feel like I have MORE clothes now which is mad.

Do it, OP! I’m in the middle of an enormous clothing edit and have actually made quite a tidy profit on eBay (or would if I didn’t keep buying Blush). Combination of this sodding year, major bereavement and realising so much doesn’t fit me or suit my lifestyle any more.
