Face help! Tinted moisturiser recommendations

NewLockdownNewMe · 04/11/2020 15:42

I’m currently in a baby + toddler phase in which merely brushing my hair every day is an achievement... I’d love a single facial product I can use to moisturise and give me an even skin tone. Something to feel a little more myself, even though preschool drop off is basically my only social interaction at the moment!

My skin is nothing extreme in any direction. Gets a little dry sometimes. Some redness more or less appeared on my 35th birthday and has hung around! I was previously in a good routine with a moisturiser, serum, eye cream nightly and pixi toner every couple of days, then using This Works camera close up as moisturiser/primer and Mac foundation.

I’ll confess to not really knowing the difference between BB/CC/tinted moisturisers... but would love any recommendations - budget of around £35 max. I have £25 boots points, so brownie points if I can use them!

Bobbi browns bb cream is good. Moisturises and has good coverage

WeAreFromThePlanetDuplo · 04/11/2020 15:48

GOSH BB cream is great, particularly if your skin is good underneath. I find it gives a better finish than much more expensive products, and I’m a big fan of spendy skincare. Grin

NARS - simply no contest!

beguilingeyes · 05/11/2020 11:15

I love the Laura Mercier TM.

Fauvist · 05/11/2020 11:19

I really like Lily Lolo BB cream and it is not expensive at all (think about £13).

Shenadoah · 05/11/2020 11:25

ps - for clarity the NARS product I'd recommend is NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser! Just realised you have a baby, so sure the less time you need to spend googling the better...

Girlintheframe · 05/11/2020 11:43

Bare minerals complexion rescue or if you want more coverage IT CC

jamaisjedors · 05/11/2020 11:51

Yes, the Nars one is great.

mechanicalsneer · 05/11/2020 12:29

Definitely recommend the Nars tinted moisturiser. I'm in the toddler/school drop off stage too and Nars makes me look alive.

LBB2020 · 05/11/2020 13:21

I’m in the same phase with baby plus toddler and have recently bought the Estée Lauder one @sunshinenrainbowz has recommended. I really like it so far!

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 05/11/2020 13:23

Can I ask - is BB cream like a moisturiser and light foundation all in one? Looking for a 'once and done' product to brighten my skin up along with a bit of mascara for my WFH make-up routine!

Sopreh · 05/11/2020 13:24

Nars tinted moisturiser

Coffeepot72 · 05/11/2020 13:25

I have just discovered NARS, it’s amazing!

Coffeepot72 · 05/11/2020 13:28

Just be a bit careful with the NARS shades, I can’t imagine anyone Caucasian would suit any of the ‘medium’ shade options, I had to experiment a bit til I ended up with ‘alasaka’, the second lightest shade, and I’m fair/medium.

Pusspot · 05/11/2020 13:29

I love Origins Ginzing tinted moisturiser. It adjusts to your skin tone so you don’t need to find the right shade. I apply it onto my clean face, no serum or other moisturiser needed. It has spf 35 or 40. I sometimes use a primer underneath if I’m going out, to add a bit more coverage.
I tried Nars radiant touch, but struggled to get the right match. I didn’t like the creamy texture either. I passed it onto my DD (21) and she really likes it though.

Purplecatshopaholic · 05/11/2020 13:29

Tinny London BFF cream is amazing. A moisturiser that adds a bit of colour and SPF - its been a game changer for me in the morning

Pusspot · 05/11/2020 13:33

@Coffeepot72 I can’t remember the shade but I found Nars was too yellow on my fairish skin tone.
There are some shade matching websites (Findation?) and also photos on Pinterest if Nars is what OP goes for.

IOwnDogsNotFrogs · 05/11/2020 13:39

DD uses Max Factor Second Skin. She finds it really easy to apply quickly which is handy as she’s always in a rush in the mornings.

Coffeepot72 · 05/11/2020 13:41

I used Findation, and as I used boots no 7 foundation shade ‘cool beige’ it decided I should be ok with shade ‘St Moritz’ in NARS - which was totally wrong! That shade would probably work on Meghan Markle, but not on my average uk skin!

princessbear80 · 05/11/2020 13:46

Your skin sounds like mine. I like Erborian BB creme. There’s normally a discount code if you google.

LizzieMacQueen · 05/11/2020 19:34

Clarins tinted moisturiser. If you go on their website you can get free samples (I think!).

NewLockdownNewMe · 05/11/2020 23:01

Thanks all, I’ll look these up! I’ve used the Origins Ginzing before, I do like it as a product, but find it’s got a slightly yellow undertone which only suits me in the summer when I’ve got a bit of a tan.
